Tim...those units look great.

In addition to preparing for and hosting a small op session last night, I made progress on the Fife loader and troup Junction scenes.

Here is Fife...installed the tipple, put in the landform around it and began work on the trestle used convey limestone to the bins.

And here are the 7 small bridges (and 14 abbutments!) on the Troup junction scene...

Have a great weekend everyone, and see you Wednesday Gary!

Tim, those units are fantastic!  I can't wait to see them painted.

Thank you Scott - hoping to have them painted and decaled in time for the Victoria Show on September 8 but the timing is tight . . .

Nice work everyone.
Simple project here. I picked up a stock Atlas/Kato D&H RS11 shell. I removed the factory numbers and name and added the decals to make the "5000". Also added numbers to the numberboards, MTL pilots and couplers and painted the trucks, tank and handrails to match. She did very well on eBay.

Finally got my NSR this week, outstanding cover and "centerfold"! Very, very nice Jason, congrats!
Also enjoyed another one of Keith Kohlmann's freight cars...does anyone know him or whether he is on this board?

Great work everyone !  As for myself, I'm finding the lack of flex track and switches, in 55 or 80, is becoming increasingly frustrating.  I, along with many others, can only hope that the shipping schedule is correct and track should start showing up by October.

Hi Otto,

Keith is in our Modutrak group and does outstanding work. He unfortunately is not on Railwire or any other boards as far as I know.

    • Trying to model the BCR Fort St John BC (again)...while living in Australia (what could possibly go wrong?)

Last week I engaged in a bit of extreme prototype research when I persuaded a friend of mine that it would be fun to take pictures of the Beatton River bridge at mile 821 of the Fort Nelson subdivision.

This involved a 100 mile drive from Fort St John BC, the last 50 of which were on rough oilfield roads.   This got us close to Beatton River siding

From here it was a 3.5 mile hike down to the bridge where I took all the photos I will ever need including these.

Then of course there was a 3.5 mile hike back to our road access point.

Apart from proving it could be done, the main reason for all this was to get reference pictures to help with the N scale version which up until that point was based on a handful of poor photos and some basic known dimensions.

Thanks also to Chris (BCOL747) for putting up with a visit from us in Prince George last Saturday night.

Thanks Bill, that might actually explain why he has time to build such outstanding freight cars... 8)

Wow, lot's of cool stuff going on as usual.  Why am I not surprised....  :D

I've been on vacation since the end of July and finally got back to work on some projects.  Finished these two for Leggy's private road.  Both are SD80MAC's and includes #5001, which is in the 100 year anniversary scheme.

Also spent some time working on this Inspection Car.  Learned some things along the way to hopefully make it better the next time.  Sides are from Union Station and the "core" is a Con-Cor superliner car.

...and finally, I was screwing around with some more tank car schemes...  :P

A CB&Q #5504 O-4 Mikado kit bashed from a generic Kato Mikado. The engineers side of the Mikado shows the heavy detailing of the Feed Water Heater and associated piping. There is a Lok-Sound 3.5 micro decoder and speaker in the tender.
