But when you think about.. If your still in R&D and you can't decide between an N scale drop in or a Z scale drop in, or the decoder that FMV is using, or some new decoder.   All answers would lead to YES.. it is "DCC Ready".

I don't think we're looking to hear "It takes a DZ155XPNFT series 4 Decoder".. We just want to hear "Yes, somehow you will be able install DCC in it without a machine shop and surgical soldering iron."

EXACTLY

This is my only forum to hopefully pressure MTL (through Joe) to do what I'm hoping, so you better believe I'm going to take it.

Once it's all decided, it's too late, since I doubt we'll see another SW1500 (although, that does some to be Bachmann's MO lately...) anytime soon, so you better believe I'm going to do everything I personally can to make sure that the one we're getting is what I've been hoping for for years.

What if Joe isn't making all the decisions on this project?, isn't it a better idea to contact MTL directly?
I’m not here to argue

I'm not saying don't pressure - and Ian's correspondence seems to suggest that its working.  I'm saying let's not make definitive statements about what is or isn't until MT makes definitive statements about what is or isn't.  Let them finish for Conrail's sake before you indict them for their process.

I'd want BN ones...but DCC compatibility is gonna be a big selling point for me.

And what is the "Some assembly required," entail? Is it going to be installing handrails and a few detail parts? Or will it be, heres a box with all the parts, have at it.

Kinda have some mixed emotions here, glad the SW 1500 is coming, really wish Conrail wasn't in the first run. I`m still leery from the Intermountain SD debacle years back..

Sometimes just doing the handrails can result in "bad language" coming out of my office... Take for instance the first round of Atlas VO1000's... Installing those handrails?  Lots of bad words.  :D

Yeah, these need to be very DCC friendly or they won't be appearing on my roster.

Man, just put a dual mode decoder in it from the factory like Bachmann does. Seriously, if Bachmann can put a DCC decoder in a 44 Tonner with directional lights, why can't MTL on an engine nearly twice its size?

And Bachmann DCC decoders are HUGE!

Anyway, cheers for CR being first on the list. I like to think that was a wink and a not to Dave, Ed and I.

Must be a misunderstanding...no assembly will be required, sub assembly or god forbid, modeling required on the SW1500 shell.  Take a deep breath...there...  :D
