When I ordered I saw there were 98 left in stock.  0 today.  Did anyone order earlier and see a higher number in stock?  I'm curious what the total run was.

When I ordered (a few minutes after Ryan's heads-up), the stock count was 150. I'm astounded that many were sold in less than 24 hours.

I figured I'd try and order one, even with the stock at 0 and see what happens. :(

I see the Coast Starlight almost every time I go to LA and had planned on trying to make one.  There were plenty of people selling off individual El Cap cars on eBay but none of the lounges.  Hopefully I don;t have to keep loooking.

You may have been the first buyer.  It was at 105 at noon yesterday.  I'm not a bit surprised at the quick sellout, as the Amtrak order page showed quantity available.  150 may sound like a lot, but that's less than 3 N scalers in each state, less if you account for any foreign sales.  Plus, some bought more than one, due to the reasonable price.

I charge fees if you want to run it with my Amtrak stuff.   :P

More is on the way, according to Matt on the Amtrak Exhibit Train team.  Time to move, though, would be now as the new shipment likely will go just as fast.

First post, from my understanding if you order with the in stock being 0, your order becomes a back order and then filled in the order received.

Received my car today. The decorations are printed via inkjet... over corrugations... Which just makes the whole thing look strangely patterned and fuzzy.

It kinda sucks.   :|

I jumped in too late for the first batch(I put my order in on the second go round)--I'm kinda glad to hear the paint is less than stellar. As I plan on stripping it and giving it a phase 3 paint job.

Thanks,
Wolf
