Two new passenger cars from Rapido

In today's edition of the Rapido newsletter we're proud (it's going to take a while to get used to saying "we") to re-announce two new cars for early 2014. The 10-5 sleeper and the cafe-bar lounge. Originally announced a few years back they got delayed due to the incredible demands the "Canadian" placed on the factory but are now going to becime a reality shortly.

Built by Pullman Standard to plan 4188 for CN and Erie the 10-5 was a very popular and common sleeper. The car will come decorated for a number of roads and will feature the usual awesome detail and "Easy Peasy" lighting Rapido is famous for. The cafe bar lounge is similar to many rebuilt coaches that numerous roads used for serving light meals, snacks and drinks. It comes with a highly detailed interior, partial skirts or fixed steps where appropriate and "Easy Peasy" lighting.

Details, road names and numbers can be found on the Rapido website (www.rapidotrains.com) and the order deadline is November 15th.

Stay tuned for more N scale announcements from Rapido in the coming months..... as soon as I find the shrink ray gun that is !!!!! LOL

Make sure you shrink the GMD-1 first.  I have NO need for it; but I WANT it.

I assume the Pride of Youngstown is the very car that went to Conrail executive train--- and then to CSX- as the Youngstown.

I have such mixed emotions on this news.  I really like their products but the delay was so long CCS has come out with more cars and allowed me to have a more complete train.  My Rapido cars are boxed up and put away.  I do think I ordered a 10-5 and Café car but I am sure the credit card info expired years ago.  With the observation cars coming soon I am only missing a dome car, but I like the Rapido colors for the NP better.  I sold off all of my Walthers NP stuff for Rapido and I boxed up all my Rapido for CCS.  It is getting a little tiring!  Throw in the off colors to the WOT baggage cars and it just gets more irritating.  I really don't need two NP trains and with the Pine Tree (term used lightly) scheme from CCS that could push me to three NP trains depending on how I mix up the equipment.

Uh, they look like different cars to me. Window arrangement and doors at different ends...

Hmm... where's my

Oh. In my 19 years of being an N scaler, I've only had one passenger car, a baggage car.

Puddy,
looking at the text under your avatar: "Someone make a single window HW coach - please", you could change that now to "Rapido, please make a single window HW coach".  In N scale of course.   ;)

BTW, what's the scoop on the Turbo Train in N?  I was told that it was Jason's pet project which has been getting delayed year after year.  I don't want a Bachmann Turbo Train - I want one from Rapido!  :x

Hmmm, if you guys do the BN exec cars...I know they aren't correct...but umm, they are close.

That is unless Rapido decides to do a 1955 GN Empire Builder, then the correct cars for the BN exec train would exist...so...

That's a good question.  Is Conrail in the second run, or should be get the undec skirted car?  I'm guessing no CR, and that the undec is the only option.

If you do CR executive stuff, be sure to release it both in the dark green and the pre-Stanley Crane CR blue schemes.  Blue with can opener looks like crap on a passenger car, but it's prototypical for 1976-1981.

:|              I hope my two dealers (pushers) where I pre-pre reserved these cars still have my orders on file. Nate Goodman (Nato).
