Anybody make an etched pull down fire escape alley ladder?  They belong on these layouts... ;)
+1   I agree with your idea and have no idea if this detail was ever made. Gold Metal Models made fire escapes but not the ones your suggesting.

Can someone please make these 3 words into something I can size and print:

Looking for  "FUEL OIL COAL" so I can print them out onto decal paper and put on the ends of my tanks. Like this:

I just put a new hard drive in and have no programs currently installed to figure this out.

Thanks in advance  ;)

IIRC, somebody made that type, but they were kind of crude.

There are different kinds: some drop straight down using a pulley and counterweights, and others swing down in an arc using a hinge pivot.

I scratchbuilt the former type from etched brass windows and other paraphernalia:

In Jackson, MI, there was a fuel place that had "OUR - TANKS - TO - YOU" on the ends of a set of four tanks that faced the road.

Thanks man!

It is printed to inkjet decal film now. Any idea how long it takes to dry?

Don't forget to apply liquid decal film over it.  :D

Usually just a few minutes. And yes, don't forget to clear-coat the sheet before you cut and dip 'em.

Got them printed and stuck onto the tanks. Looks like the hard part will be hiding the film line on a silver painted surface

I've got 2 coats of gloss over them now.

I should have suggested beforehand to cut the decals to cover the whole ends of the tanks, thus saving you the trouble of hiding the decal edges...

There's always dry transfers for something like this if the decals don't work out.

This is still in gloss.

I highly doubt I could ever get dry transfers on straight.

There is already 2 coat of gloss over the decals and when I Dullcoted them it didn't get any better.  So... I sanded the decals off and re-painted the ends. I will try larger decals this time to cover the whole end. I will still have to trim around the little NBW casting.  Can't use the 3' rule here is any way because those tanks are literally 1/4" from the edge of the layout.

I'm working on the curved building now. That is the cool thing. I can glue something on one building, set it aside, and start messing with something else. Keep em' rotating.
