Didn't get a chance to spend much time or talk to anybody in the booth yesterday.

Those were announced a month ago. We have most of those setting on our shops shelves right now.

If that is the announcement, I'm disappointed.  All items previously announced, and like previous poster said, some already on peoples layouts, much less store shelves.  And then some are just rehashes of previous releases, just with a new decal sheet.  Come on man !

Don't take this as a knock on these builings because I really like Walthers buildings.  Most of these are older kits under new names with minor changes.  Lots of manufactures do this, so no big deal.  Besides, they are great for kitbashing other buildings.

Wish they would release much of their HO line in N Scale.  That would make many of us beyond happy

New, huh?  Really?
If selling an assembled kit makes it "new", then so be it!

The assembled water tower, at least the older style, is well worth it. The pre-built is only $5 more than the kit version. I've had more than a couple customers struggle with that tower. Built up will be very welcome.

Okay, this is a rant so if you don't want to read this, please just skip it.

Really disappointed but not at all surprised by this lame attempt by Walthers. Really???, wait until Saturday to post something that they had already announced and sitting on shelves. Beyond pathetic.

That said, they finally seemed to have corrected another slap in the face to N scale modelers by now selling their "Industrial Office" kit individually at an MSRP of $20.00. This is actually the yard office for Humboldt Yard on the Beer Line, so I am pleased that they produced it in N. However, for years they paired it with a completely unrelated "Coop Shed" kit at an MSRP of $58.00 (http://www.nscalesupply.com/Wal/WAL-933-3822.htm). I heard from a guy at Walthers that they paired them this way because the had an over stock of the sheds. Do they actually try to irritate N scalers with stuff like this?

As a native of Milwaukee, I have always felt defensive when people complain about Walthers (and Kalmbach), but I have really reached my limit with these clowns.
Okay, enough of all this. I am off to my workshop now.

Best wishes, Dave

Rereleases are better than nothing. Not everyone involved in N scale has been around long enough to have experienced the industrial revolution last time Walther's seriously put out N scale product.

I agree completely that there are a number of buildings in their HO lineup that would work very well in N scale, and sell well.

I don't get the pre-assembled releases at all though. From Walthers or Woodland Scenics. I thought building the kits was half the fun of the hobby.

Rereleases are better than nothing.

I have absolutely no problem with Walthers restocking or re-marketing their previous models. I do object to their playing around on Facebook telling people to wait until Saturday for an announcement and it turns out that the products are already on the shelves at hobby stores. They should know by now that the N scale community is disappointed with their lack of new products, so why screw with us like this?

I wish I could find Dave V's very funny "new jewel case" video from another fabulous Wathers announcement. It was classic.

Best wishes, Dave
