This has been on my wish list for a long time.

I'll second that!

Cheers,

It took 4 pages for the K4 to be mentioned and page 6 for it to become a wishlist thread. We're great at staying on topic

Now that we have the SW1500 coming out, how about an SW1000?

Was wondering how hard of a kitbash this would be myself.  For the non-rivet counter, would look to remove one of the two stacks and be done.  But I know there is more to it than that.  Has to be...I mean nothing can be that easy, can it?

Correct. The roof grills are shorter and I believe there are some differences in access doors as well.

The top radiator grill will have to be shortened as well and possibly some changes to doors... will have to look at that.

After hearing of the up & coming U25C loco being done by Hornby under the Arnold name I went and took a look at some pictures. Though many roads did not have these their are still a couple of interesting paint schemes shown. http://www.railpictures.net/index.php (Just search under locomotive type for U25C in general)

Well, if they offer this paint scheme (ex-L&N relettered for the Seaboard System), I'll probably find it hard to resist.

The date of that picture is right in my era and darn close to my modeled location!   :)

I might have to buy one as well, just to satisfy my need for all things u boat.  These SBD ones might have made it to New Orleans in their as delivered SCL colors.  Sadly, neither ICG or KCS had any.

In addition to the Baldwins already mentioned, here are a few diesels that could be on someone's list:

FM H10/H12-44 switchers (last produced by Trix in the early 1970's)
Alco RSD12 (last produced by Atlas/Kato in late 1980's)
Alco RS18 (never produced)
Alco RS36 (never produced)

Plus, I'd note that the "old" Rivarossi was famous for many N scale steamers that were excellent for their day (though would be outdated today).  Here are some steamers that I think there would be a market for and are not currently being made or in someone's plans: an updated 2-8-4 Berkshire; 2-10-4 (C&O, Santa Fe, PRR all had many; at least 7 other Class 1's had a few); a good running light Mikado (unless Model Power really does fix theirs); 4-6-4 Hudson; PRR K-4 (actually, pretty much anything Pennsy); an Allegheny; a Yellowstone.

I hope Hornby is successful; we could use another player in the N scale market, and they've already shown considerable sense by employing Charlie Vlk, who knows the business and has his pulse on the hobby.

True Line Trains produced the RS 10 and the RS 18 in about 2007... Atlas frame - nice models
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Probably the best Atlas powered models built. No issues with my fleet whatsoever. Wish the C628/C630 were the same, but those cracked universals are at the least something fixable.

It's only fitting since they were Canadian only locomotives when originally built.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

Someday I hope to see an update in the U25C in this thread.

I'm sure if there was any news we'd be all over it like... uh... well... we'd be all over it.

Besides, overcoming seven pages of thread drift on TRW is a lot to expect. We're a pretty ADHD bunch. :ashat:
