Notice that the DGLE looks light gray in the second photo. God only knows why. You might even think it was light blue if you didn't know that was HIGHLY improbable on the Pennsy. It does have white walls, maybe it was some bizarre color for a time.
On subsequent units (which oddly enough have lower numbers) the paint scheme was the familiar one with the logo centered...
On the units with full shrouding the wide stripe continued down the side of the locomotive. If the shrouding was missing, so was the stripe...
Unfortunately, most photos of T1's are black and white and the tenders are dirty enough to obscure the livery. If there were other variations, it's hard to tell...
We will have to trust that the lettering diagrams were kept up to date.
