Don't need/want one, but since the hoods appear short, could the chassis be a starting point for a GenSet? hmmmmm.....
Can't model worth a darn, but can research like an SOB.

Truer words, truer words. But don't blame the Canadian Mfg's, SW1500 was far rarer than the GMD1 up here.

Oh, I don't. I think it's a really cool thing. It's just perplexing and personally frustrating.

I wish we had a Rapido down here... (looks at Bryan and Matt...)

Agree with Ed on this.  However, it it a neat looking loco.  Wouldn't mind having one for a short line.

We have bitched and moaned about getting Alco S units and now 2 manufacturers are going out with them.  We have also done the same thing about the SW1500 and I know the manufactuers have seen our desires, so it wouldn't surprise me that sometime in the near future someone will produce it.  Personally I'm still waiting for a good old Baldwin road switcher.

Look at Matt.  No ESM motive power anytime soon.  8)

I can only imagine how crazy an ESM engine would be.

I can picture it now, an N scale live steam version of Strasburg's 1187.

I think the A-1-A units still operate in the prairies.  I see photos of them switching in the Edmonton area.

On reflection, I think the choice is quite sensible, given a Canadian manufacturer.  What other Canadian units have not been done in resin or injection?  Porkchops, anyone?

I could really think about getting an NAR unit, when they come out. Someone needs to do an NAR style bay window caboose to go with them, though, or, even better, one of the coach-cabooses.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

I had the same thought.  I'd probably get one just to have - I seem to be gravitating to collecting interesting diesels.

Damn, so fine.  But how often would one roam across the line wearing green and gold at Blaine and down into the Puget Sound or Northpoint and into Spokane?  Probably never.
