I've been working on the Mark 2 Mod 1 redbud tree.  I think I've found the right color and texture, but have to get the application less dense.

Messed around with my switching layout a little more, I think I am pretty happy with the track plan now. I think I'm going to make one change though, after opperating it for a while, it has become clear that I have too much industry, and too little yard, so I am cutting some industry, and redesignating a portion as the "main line" to give the freight somewhere to come from and to go to. Might throw a passenger station along on eof the sections I changed because I don't have anything else there right now. I'll try to get some pictures up later tonight.

Pictures up this thread. https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=29359.0

Take a piece of styrene or scrap plastic the thickness of what you want the height to be.  Drill a hole in it the same size or slightly larger than the fan housing.  Trim it down so it fits in where it has to.  Silp it over.  File until flush....    or something like that.

Craig

That is a good idea, Craig, I think I'll try that. Thanks!

Bob:  You probably would want a less dense tree, but some of them in our area this year did bloom like that.  I wouldn't do anything to it until you're satisfied that you have a better one.

Husker, nice work!! That is one of the things that drove me crazy about N, lack of modern vehicles, MHE, etc...  Way to fill that void.

I finished these two this week.  Still have more in the pipeline...  ;)

More of a fantasy scheme based on a compilation of a few EMD demo paint shemes.

Shot of them together:

Also finished these this morning:

Here's my 48' MAC all aluminum flatbed trailer in fresh paint.  Still needs mudflaps and DOT striping.

Dumb question, How hard would a 40' tri axle version be to do?

Safe passage, brave little layout.

Springtime in NE PA, from a slightly different angle in my build thread.  Used colored sand for the redbud.  Dogwood, bluebells, and some white things blooming.

kinda hard to follow Bob... but I will give it a try

ran trains for 2 hours on my low line and high line and grabbed this shot.

I realize it is not a protopypical shot, but the colors jumped out at me, and i just love watching the Heritage unit in action and there's nothing better to clean the track then the metal wheels on a Kato passenger train... after a few laps... things were humming smoothly.

(Plus, I know Lee love's this Bridge!)

Not much progress was made. It's pretty pretty tough to get these seams correct. Luckily, there was some great roof runoff that is helping me hide it.

It looks great from 3 feet away...

Looks like everyone has been quite busy and productive.

My weekend consisted of the Star Trek convention at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill, NJ on saturday, and sunday consisted to manual labor for my BSA Eagle Project, which i can proudly say is complete save for two cast-concrete planters and a couple benches. I'd rather not count waiting for the grass to grow as the sign of completion. Pictures to come soon.

Thanks!

I got the call at 3:48pm on saturday that the donated pavers had been delivered and work was starting 9am the next day. It went from just laying pavers, to completing all the hardscaping...

Got a few hours Friday, and a few more Sunday, so I started on a couple of Gruman LLV's that NZT recently released:

Got the tires on; still need to paint the bumpers, but since it's a single white resin block, the decals David developed really make the difference (particularly the light cluster down the back door sides.

Also went old school on some weathering to use bounce weathering (a 1980's technique using spray bombs and slanted cardboard) to gum up some NOPB boxcars I rehabbed (new couplers, BLMA trucks, MDC bodies).  I need to do a couple of 91% isopropyl smears and some other work before I post a photo.

Unfortunately no time for any modelling this week :( .  Two more shots of recent "in-progress" modelling however one of which was from last week's operating session.  I hope to have this bridge done within next 3 weeks...progress is at a crawl...

Westbound caboose hop.

md

It looks more than done enough, to me. Very close to the original scene. All you need are a couple of idiots camped by the river under the bridge like I did a couple of summers ago.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.
