Does not compute.

Works for me, that's all that matters.

Bummer.  I'm finding it somewhat fascinating that this model gets a complete pass across the board no matter how far off it is.  Even the RI paint is wrong.

I will say those NH units look pretty good with the roof cleaned up, and the chicken wire over the new vents look better than the stainless grill the RI

What is the point, Walthers doesn't care one little bit about N scale.  It is simple, if they want to make they will and if we want to buy it we do.  Beyond that is just a waste of energy.  No reason to overthink this one.

DL 109 did get off line to at least one non owning rr.  supposedly, BAR leased a couple from the NH for a season.   The BAR returned them and did not lease them again.  The fault was that they were to slippery for freight service

Hello all...
I wanted to ask some questions on opinion, and add some observations about this release from Walthers....
so I searched the forum to make sure I wasn't reproducing a thread....found this one....
Geez...some of you really take the fun out of 'hobby'....
I'll take my opinion and interest elsewhere....

Huh?!  You bring an old thread just to tell everybody to kiss-off?  Everything in the online forums gets over-analyzed to death (if that is what you mean).  Nothing new here.

Sorry you feel that way.  I looked through this thread and saw a lot of good information (I think, anyway...since PRR didn't own DL109s ).  If you choose just to focus on the negative, that's your choice.  I went over to the Trainboard thread where you mention us (not by name, thankfully).  I read it as "I want people to say only positive things about this model and Walthers."  One thing I appreciate about the Railwire is that models are reviewed to a greater level of detail than on many other forums.  Sure, that comes with a lot of complaining, but you can always choose to tune it out.  Or not.  Your mileage may vary.  For what it's worth, observations on Walthers' inconsistent commitment to N scale are accurate, if pedantic.

The Railwire is what it is.

Well, since 2 people quoted the original message, it is preserved, even if the original message was to be deleted.  :P

I dunno, much of the thread seemed over the top negative to me - basically a diatribe against Walthers by a couple of a$$... er, hats.

Funny how a thread can have an overall bitchy vibe based on the repetitive posts of one or two dooshhats  :ashat:

It probably wasn't worth of being preserved in the first place.  :)
I really don't know what triggered this thing. Arbomambo has been posting some really good threads on projects he has been working on. Then (at least for me), suddenly this thing happens.
