PRR x48's ala George Hollwedel

Got this eMail

I am excited to announce my very first Pennsylvania Railroad car!

This will be an X48 40' PS-1 boxcar with an 8' door, to be released with the Atlas regular production cars around November 2013.  I will be doing three road numbers for this run.

The prototype was built in February 1954 and was the very first PRR car to use the "Shadow Keystone" logo.  I have a B&W jpeg of the prototype if you want to see it.

If you have yet to see any of the new Atlas PS-1 cars you have missed a real treat.  Incredible detail, metal wheels, body mounted couplers, Superb!

My three car set will sell for $59.95 (Atlas list price on the new PS-1 cars is $26.95)
I will have some single cars from the set available for $20.95 each.

Shipping/Handling is $7.00, I accept checks, money orders, PayPal and credit cards.

Thanks!

George

You know what they say... a picture's worth $59.95.

Where does one order them?

This was a very good email to receive!  :)

I received an email from George Hollwedel that the Atlas PRR X48's are now shipping.  I hope to receive my three on Saturday.  Get them while you can.

Me too! Looking forward to these little beauties!
Haven't seen anything on any of my preferred dealers sites regarding the rest of the Atlas 8' door PS1s being available though!
Cheers,
Scott

Here's my modified one, with extended draft gear added to indicate a cushioned underframe and swapped in ASF A-3 trucks.  I still have to lower the end tack boards.
