Well... The shelf idea is out of question.

I realised that as I am living on a rented place, when ever I get out I must put everything as it was, so...

I also realized that I was something missing in all the cool plans that DKS made me... Although I want a "roundy-round", I also waht to have something ponit-to-point.

So I started to search and read again all my MR books and magazines....

I found this:
Yeap, this the first planning stage of MR's David Popp's layout.

And also this:

Dave Foxx is planning to do the same....

So I thinkI found the answer... I made a point-to-point with the possibility of a continuous run.

All this time that is taking me to finish the small layout is making think...

Well, I'm biased, so you know I like where you're going with your plan.  That said, if you can, plan on double-ending the yard tracks or at least providing a run-around for your locomotives, so that the power can get around the cars to switch the yard and build up another train to go back in the other direction.  I do like the point-to-point option for ops, but sometimes I'm lazy, and I just like to let 'em run, i.e., the roundy-round.

Hi Dave.

Thanks for the reply.

When I wrote I made a plan, I meant I need a plan.

I' try to draw something to put into your consideration.

sorry if the written English isn't that perfect...

Hi.

After much thinking, I decided to print this plan in full size:

I thinki I will stick with it... I think. DKS, do you think it is possible to add a siding to the existing ones? I would like to a cereal elevator...

Thanks.

Hi all.

Do you think that this warehouse can be "americanized"??

I can get it for a bargain, but I am not sure if it goes properly one the project I want to build...

It looks pretty Midwestern to me; a lot of German immigrants moved to the Midwest, and a lot of other euros lived in the northeast...I say fudge it

It needs doors that either roll up or slide to the side, and bigger windows with more panes. But other then that it's easily a small town freight shed.

I like the crates in the second photo - do they come with it?

I'd "Americanize" it by doing the following:

1. Remove the trim parts under the roof on the ends.

2. Add sliding doors with tracks.

You can also enlarge the windows as Philip recommends.

Hi all.

Thanks for the answers and ideas. I think I'll get the ware house and start working on it, after the small japanese layout is done.

Thank you.

Hi all.

Now that the Japanese Rei-Hou霊峰(Sacred Mountain) layout is done, I can turn my attention to this layout.

Soon, I'll start to remove the rails redo the framework.

Final size will be 187 x 80 cm. I think it is a good size for a modeler that doesn't like things too big.

Do you think that it is possible to have a mix of California Central and Kootenay Lake Navigation Co. N scale layouts in this space?

Layout will be built for shows as well, I hope!

Cheers.

Hi all.

After much reading and viewing the videos about it about it at MRplus, I decided that I want an N scale version of the Virginian 4 x 8 H0 2012 project from Model Railroader. I think that it has a lot of potential for the purpose I want.

I want to build this, in my space that it is 187 x 80 cm. Don't want the extensions for now, just the main thing.

Do you folks can help me sketching this, using PECO code 55? I am not that good making track plans...

Thank you.

I can sketch one up but here's the one I did based on it on a Hollow Core Door (HCD) layout. It's using FastTrack #5s but could probably look at doing it using Peco 55. Would you still want it to be 4x8 or is a 36x80 HCD acceptable?

Edit: I see the 187x80 requirement which is just a bit smaller then a HCD but should be workable. Curves would be less then the 15" I had on this one.

Let me know,

Phil
