Intermountain F-7 March Announcement: Milwaukee Road and some others....

Good news for 1970+ Milwaukee Road fans. Intermountain has announced their F-7 A and B in the orange and black scheme!
Four numbers for the A and three numbers for the B. Some lesser roads were  also announced.....

Many of these photos look like HO stand-ins. Does anyone know whether the N scale F units have been produced with the correct winterization hatch?

All it will take is the slightest suggestion of some weathering to turn these into a nice transfer power set.

Looks like you'll have to fabricate some of those MILW style spark arrestors, though.

(For my take: I keep hoping they will eventually re-issue the CBQ F7A's, and I keep getting disappointed.)

I have been seeing IM CB&Q F7 shells selling for more than the cost of an entire unit.  I agree on being disappointed.

I'm happy Intermountain is coming out with some 50' double door box cars too. Now maybe they'll have underframes in stock again.

I do have to chuckle how the coaches were announced before the observations and now the coaches are pushed back to April, while the observations are still showing February/March.  I am going to have to check my calendar!

At first I wanted an A for the versatility, then I realized that the B would be cooler sandwiched between a GP30 and an RS11. But now? I'm torn.

Dang. I hadn't considered that they might announce these and them cancel them. I am optimistic though, since this is the first time anyone has done a Milwaukee F unit in the orange and black scheme. The Milwaukee had 100+ of these, so they were pretty common.

I have plenty of spark arresters for these. Anyone know whether they add the winterization hatches to their N scale models.

I'm pretty sure my GN unit had a winterization hatch.  So they should have the part available to use on these.

Recently I watched a PC-era video featuring many trains and it was stunning how many F7's, both A's & B's, were part of consists.
