Dave, who makes those spark arrestors?

I'm not sure they're commericially available.  I know of one member that makes them....

Not particularly enthralled with the roadname selection.  I fear the run will be cancelled.

Ohhhh, Mr. Wallet will not be happy...
Milwaukee and Bessemer F7's, I want some.  :)

Dave, who makes those spark arrestors?

The F units I have came with winterizaton hatches as an add-on.

Thomas

I have a small stash from Sunrise, which unfortunately are out of production. Thanks for the info on the hatches. Have they been canceling entire runs due to low reservations in the group or just individual road names?

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I keep hopeing for some more phases of F units, F2's in Boston and Maine, and some phase IV F3/F5's for Maine Central. I wouldn't mind a rerun of Boston and Maine F7's.

I got a Intermountain newsletter today and they raised the retail prices of the F3's and F7's coming this summer/fall by $20.  They had updated the coming products page on the 10th, I think they updated the prices then because I remember looking at it and thinking something was different.  Now I know, the A's were $99.99 and B's were $94.99.  Now they're $119.99 and $114.99 respectively.  Not that it will stop me from getting what I want, but I would guess it changes the reserve pricing by a few dollars.  Just a heads up for budget planning.

B&LE are really tempting. CP leased them often in the 1970's and even though I don't model that era, 1977-79 is one of the secondary periods I've equipment to backdate.. one needs an excuse for RS-3's, RS-10's, FA2's, and FP7A's in freight service and S-2's in the yard, and now apparently B&LE F7's.

Those GTW coil cars are also tempting...

I am telling you all in my opinion Intermountain may make a nice product but they are a joke as far as running a company is concerned.  Right hand doesn't know what left hand is doing.  They can't even get their pricing correct when they announce it.  A $20 error in engine pricing is something they should fire someone over.  Getting emails saying a product is in the next production run only to see the entire run cancelled in the next month's announcements.  Rampant cancellations  after shot gun announcements of way too many random road names.  It is a complete joke.

I have an ABA set of F3 units on order which I will not cancel as it would be just as unfair to the hobby shop as Intermountain's actions are.  I will also buy at least an F7A if the offer it in CB&Q.

I will buy from them when they have something I need and no one else will offer it.

Kato, Atlas, FVM I will buy their products when I need them but I will also buy things I do not need to support their efforts.  I don't need an S-2 in GN or ATSF but I will buy at least one them because I want to support their efforts on new and exciting model.  I don't need the Hiawatha set but I want to support their new high quality steam loco and unique passenger cars.  I don't need Metra cars and matching engines but I like what they are doing and want to support their pocket size sets and road specific offerings.

I realize I am just one man and make little difference in the overall scheme, but if I am willing to buy products that don't fit my layout simply because they are neat and I feel good about what the company is doing I have to imagine I am not alone.

I also just took stock and I have around 15 Micro-Trains heavyweight cars beyond the GN and CB&Q trains that was my original goal.  So in my excitement to support new, high quality heavyweight cars I have more than enough project cars in my coffers for many projects to come!

Which coaches?  Haven't they all been released already?  Or are you waiting for a re-run?

Some old and new schemes.  The 56 seat coach run they have done before.

As far as the stuff getting canceled, I don't think it is going to happen this time. When I ordered our F3's for the shop, I was real close to the deadline and made a comment to our rep about hoping these were going to happen. His comment was that the reservations were strong and the only way these would be shorted is if they ran a fork lift through the case durring shipping.  I just hope the price increase doesn't cause too many people to back out. These loco's are well worth the price in my opinion. I'd rather have these than Kato's any day.

I really don't think the price increase is an Intermountain problem but due to the China syndrome. They were told one price which was changed by the supplier once they placed the order and already having reservations for the locos. The supplier had them over a barrel and another cancelation would have killed them. They couldn't loose money on the batch of locos so something had to happen.
