Thanks Shipsure and Microtrains !!

I wonder sometimes if we realize what an asset it is to have "Joe" at Microtrains as a participant on The Railwire?

I have been searching for an set of doors that I might be to use on a door swap project I am attempting.  As luck would have it, the Milwaukee car in this month's MT release looks like an excellent candidate for the replacement.

A message sent to Shipsure via The Railwire and I am going to get some doors to experiment with and they don't even want me to pay for the shipping!

Thanks, Joe, for both the doors and being a Railwire participant.

I definitely appreciate Joe's participation. Although I've never had to go through him for anything personally, it's good to hear such positive reactions from people who have.

Having said that... Can open, worms everywhere.

Joe's been really good to me too with wheelsets and paint.

I know he takes a lot of heat here, many times for decisions that are not necessarily his.  Hopefully we can continue to provide useful feedback and information to help MTL produce the models we want to see, and do so in a constructive, objective manner.

Now where's that PRR D78...?   :D

Joe is certainly a benefit to us all, and a credit to our hobby.
Can't wait to see the rest of the meat packer reefers and the brewery reefers once they start being released.

Absolutely. I really appreciate his presence and frequent candor with the rest of the Railwire community.

And in this vein, I think it's important that we ALL remember that Joe is not the Supreme Leader of Micro-Trains. He doesn't always get to make the final call, and some folks need to remember not to beat up on him (well, ever, actually).

My thanks to Joe for participating here!
It is reassuring to know that a person for the company is taking time to follow this forum and comment and respond.

Other companies in n-scale model railroading would find their time well spent in following this and some of the other n-scale model railroad forums.
This may not be scientific marketing research, but it certainly is a broad range of opinions.

I know first hand that Joe is pretty much the only real train guy in the whole plant. Others may know a little bit but he is alone in his passion for prototypical model railroading. From my experience I could only see management looking at the numbers (and I don't mean dim data!). No passion for trains of any specific manner by management. It must be hard and frustrating to know what your company's product should look like, what the customers want it to look like, and the boss more consumed about life outside the job than to put his finger on the pulse of the consumer.

I agree, I have enjoyed Joe's participation both as a modeler and as an industry participant, even if not officially representing some certain organization that people love to razz.   :P   I think him coming to this forum knowing full well that the criticism will be amplified, times one-hundred-sixty...or a thousand...or a million, makes it that much more meaningful.   (and trust me, I defend the  :ashat: criticism too....I think it's what makes this forum great)

Regardless, I think it would be a disservice to Joe if this thread doesn't at least go 3 pages!
NOTE: I'm no longer active on this forum.   If you need to contact me, use the e-mail address (or visit the website link) attached to this username.  Thanks.

Joe recently sent me at no charge some shells to help me with a project. I didn't solicit them....he just offered.

Thanks again Joe!

Best wishes, Dave

Back last year, when I was trying to figure out the best way to get some bettendorf medium extension trucks, Joe offered to send me some. I managed to get some on ebay with some MTL drop end gondolas, so I didn't take Joe up on his offer. Still, it was nice knowing he cared enough to contact me.

Hmm... too bad Micro-Trains
doesn't stock termites...
