Originally manufactured (circa 1965) by FWD Wagner Inc. as an L60 (which is the same chassis that was used for the firms's 1960s van trailer style "Piggy Packer", upon which N Scale of Nevada derived its Southern Pacific pewter model), Raygo Wagner Inc. patented its larger design on August 15, 1978, as a load handling vehicle that the firm would eventually moniker the "Lumber Jack" (which encompassed the L70 - L100 series log stacker models).
Are you saying the log loader was originally manufactured in '65 or just the intermodal version? Also, the NSN version, according to what I'm reading is the early L60, but what is the WOT model? Or more important what year was its prototype chassis put into manufacture and would a log-loader version be appropriate in 1967?
Yes, nice loader. I would love to get a couple sets of those "claws". Are they available anywhere?
great logs, what plant are they from
Now if WOT makes a conversion for their Piggy-Packer, I'll buy at least one, and, if I can afford it, two or three.
Well I have actually been in contact with WoT about either making this model as a complete model, or making just the logging grapple and us modelers install the grapple on our own. As of right now WoT is leaning more towards the complete model, due to reasons I cant discuss. I have forwarded them pictures as well as measurements and CAD drawings of the grapples in detail and have also offered to get any additional information for them to get this model built.Lets keep our fingers crossed.Ryan
