Some nut/bolt/washer castings will go a long way.  Note that those side braces had rods that spanned across the inside fromo one outer brace to the other with a nut on the outside.  Check some more pics of the brigde that was shared the other day.

I based my braces loosely off this:
Sherman Creek in Ducannon, PA


I zoomed in under the arches and can't tell either way if there's bracing in there. I mean, structurally, it makes sense to me, but I can't see any good photographic evidence.

Yup thiose are the ones.  Sorry I couldn't be more specific earlier.  I knew the great  :ashat:'s would come through!  Eric, yes that is the one I was referring to.  You gotta get a shot of that with the heritage unit on that bridge.

Hey everyone! Thanks for the compliments!

After a little more research I think I may have zeroed in on basing my layout on Gallitzin, PA. Just west "the curve."

I did a mock up. The idea is to start at MG tower and work your way through Portage tunnel towards Cresson, passing Gallitzin and AR interlocking.

The track plan actually resembles the prototype, only instead of the wye and loop, it's all main line.
As far as industries go, coal and coke.
Thoughts?

My unit in my shot is more what the heritage unit should have looked like. BTW, anyone going to the RailBQ has the opportunity to see this scene for themselves.

Don't forget to leave an option for staging and expansion. I like it. I have a 36 x 80 HCD with a clean foam top right now with the same plan laid out on paper ready to go.

Yeah, I think I saw drafts somewhere of DKS or Dr.V putting in a wye module.
If that day comes for me, the north part of my mainline will actually be the reversing loop and I'll model Cresson on another door. IT WILL BE GLORIOUS! WE WILL DRINK A BARREL OF BLOOD WINE 2309, THERE IS NO FINER VINTAGE!
