Wow --- where was this thread for 2 years? What happened to the original HCD layout? You should probably buy Dave's HCD, saw this new one down the middle, stick those pieces on the outside long sides of Dave's layout, add some flex track to join the outside ovals and BOOM! Double HCD 4 track Pennsy action!
Hmm.. why is the picture upsidedown?

Life gets in the way, that's where. Dave has already said he doesn't want to sell it as he recycles all his assets in to new layouts. Plus this new layout is code 55.
Also, my tastes have changed a little but over the years. Maybe I've been hanging around @Ed Kapuscinski too much. You could say I've matured a bit. As of now, my plan is to build MG interlocking as an NTRAK module. The pic is NOT upside down. Ben took the picture hanging from the harness in his bedroom.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Hmm. Now that I wrote that out, it does seem a little strange. I wonder why he has a harness in his bedroom?

When I'm done recycling the Juniata Division there won't be anything left to sell.  Every structure, sign, tree, bush, and detail will be saved.  That's because I have no intention of rebuilding all that stuff for another layout.  As much as I enjoy building structures, for example, they're time consuming and they really hold up completion (as I'm learning on my micro layout).

I'm with you, Dave.  Everything in this picture has been on at least one layout, and much of it has been on several dating back to the mid 80s...
Although, I have scattered several items to the wind...

Plot twist:
I've acquired a new layout in a game of chance.

Let's see how we can Pennsify this.

The pic is upside down. There is a cup sitting on the carpet.  :ashat:

You know, I THOUGHT it looked familiar!

Nature abhors a vacuum. Dave talks about tearing down the JD, and then this drops in to my lap.
Get ready for Josh's Juniata Division!
Or not. ;)

Seriously though. Here's the story. Ed's NCR shelf isn't going to make the move, so @btsnyder27 offered to trade this for it.

I think this will be what I need for right now as a home layout until "the big one". I'll hope to build up some NTRAK modules that will scratch my 4 track main itch.
I just need to figure out what to do with this. Maybe I can get away with Gallitzin? I don't know.

How much shelf is the shelf? think it would all fit in my Jag? I pass through the Baltimore area on my way to Ranson, WV quite often.

You guys missed the part about it being a trade. The shelf is going to Ben.

Unlikely.

Especially since the backseat is full of antiques and military surplus right now.

Did we miss it, or did you just fail to mention it  :D
You did say that you won the new layout in "a game of chance" so one would assume that you were retaining both in some way.

I don't know...  Seemed pretty clear to me:

Sure, it'll fit if you run it through a chipper first.  Seriously, was that a real question?
