Paul from Atlas stated that parts for the new PS-1 cars will eventually be available for purchase.

Okay, but that's not the same truck.  It would be great if i could use it as I'd trade the coupler for metal wheels.

It depended on roadname, but USRA double sheathed, single sheathed, and steel rebuilds came with them.

Looking forward to the pre-faded corn syrup tankers.  Are the railings on the 23.5K tanker newly tooled?  If so, that would make a nice part for upgrading older models.

Oh, and great to see the Panama Canal Rwy finally getting some respect.  I'm impressed, Atlas.

I don't think they were ever for sale. I bugged both Paul and Cory about it and they said something about getting things straight in China.

In some post somewhere either Paul or Cory (but probably Paul) mentioned that there was a problem and the factory didn't produce enough extra trucks for spare parts but they were hoping to fix that during the next production run.

Well, I found the one I twas thinking of, but it's probably referring to spare parts for the PS-1 but with a number of people asking about the Andrews truck over the last year or so, hopefully they heard that.

With the change from one primary factory from production to numerous factories, the parts ordering process has changed a bit, so some items that have been received in the past 6-12 months arrived without supporting spare parts.  We are working with the factories to make sure that this is corrected going forward, and the majority of the arriving shipments from here on out will have parts with them.

When the USRA single-sheathed, double-sheathed and rebuilt boxcars first appeared, they were released on Andrews trucks specifically designed for them so that the cars would sit at the proper height over the rail.  However, the truck bolster was designed similar to the way the BLMA trucks were designed, with a lowered bolster cross-frame, rather than reducing the height of the bolster on the underframe.  This meant the Andrews trucks could be used to reduce the height of other models, but it also meant that the standard Bettendorf trucks would raise the height of the USRA cars.  This became apparent as subsequent USRA schemes required Bettendorfs.
