After several months of neglect the two CRS-20 rebuilds got some paint.   Next up is painting the lower body blue and the underframe silver.   Still lots to do but nice to see them moving forward again

Work continues on my camera car.  I've started work on building the dummy RF16 to house the camera.  That includes cutting the hole in the shell, cutting down the gear towers on the trucks, and beginning work on a new internal skeleton using my newly installed Silhouette cutter.

You nailed that backdrop.  From that low camera angle, it is perfect.

Getting back to modeling...I decided to tackle the first of 5 major bridges, the Slocan River Bridge, by building it from material from a variety of kits.  This is similar to the way I constructed the smaller Lemon Creek pony truss bridge about 9 months ago.  If it works out then I will likely abandon my Rapid Prototyping/Solid Modeling aspirations.

Have a great weekend!

Nice work Mark.  What are the source for the white cross brace components?

Thanks Mark, I did not recognize them.  I'm in a similar situation with the Cisco bridge, a lot of parts are getting used.

Awesome weathering Mike!  Thats just the look I want to capture on my engines when I start weathering them.  I like the brownish dirt spray as opposed to the all gray look.  I have been collecting up color photos of SP steam from the 50's to use as a reference and your rendition there is spot on!  What techniques did you use?
