B&O also had an open top hopper based on this design.
Bob,

The article on the 2 Bay Open Top Hopper is also in that Issue of the B&O Modeler.  I would love to have a train with a few of them in it

Mike,

If that is the case it got me. But being from the land down under that is all new to me and I don't care I would still love to model it. They really look good.

Hi Bob,

They will make great foobies. I reckon 10 will do. I will bash up some FNS cars to get a pattern and make a couple. Let you know when I have them done.

Mike,

Good one but as I said I do not really care the look great and will fit just nicely into a project I have in mind.

I have a JnJ Caboose I bought just so I could stick it to a mate of mine who was as one eyed B&O as I was Pennsy. Unfortunate part was that he up and died on me before I got it finished. They are really a Dinkey Toy.

Re-jiggered the O Scale H-30 ad from page 1

What is this? Weaver? That black N&W car looks wrong ... I think they may have lettered it MOW, but then it should be dark green.

So I'm confused...the FVM flyer lists the ACe as the announcement. But then somewhere in the middle of this thread there was the post with pictures of the model samples and people started posting like there was an SD70M-2 variation.  Or is it that the new model makes kit bashing a lot easier?

I just want to know if I should get my hopes up (and my wallet ready) for some FEC units :)

No kitbash, there IS a SD70M-2 amongst those samples. Just have to wait for the official announcement.

Patience young Skywalker...

Is this coming to fruition sometime before the last SD40-2 is cut up and carted away in gons?

Edit:
Fox Valley Models:  Can Stock boxes, SD70ACE, Southern gons and that PRR hopper was the big news. Matt said the reason who he went with the ACE was because of the heritage schemes sell well. There is another engine he is working on. We talk about it a lot here. Ed and I will be very happy. I may have already said too much.

You must be alluding to the Ingalls 4-S. Nice.

More to the point, is this coming before I croak it? I'm in my 40's already  :P Much as I want to believe in the '-2' project, how many years has it been hinted at now? About time someone had the balls to make an official announcement IF it's real.

Cheers,

Kev

Here's a good article from the B&O historical society on the canstock cars http://www.borhs.org/sentinel/sentinel2010Q20510.pdf. There was a Pullman version and berwick the fvm model is the pullman standard version. I didn't know until reading this that B&O worked with Evans to develop coil cars and Evans helped design the canstock car.

I wonder where those Canstock cars roamed - anyone have a clue?

Mark

(today, google is my friend - nice write-up up the canstocks here: http://www.borhs.org/sentinel/sentinel2010Q20510.pdf )
Looks like the link was already posted  :D

Mark5,

I guess you would be correct there however, this may have applied to some of them in the Mid to Late 50
