I don't have a B&O engine so I have no need for the B&O caboose but I will most likely get one anyway.  I have 2 of the wagontop box cars and really like them.

That might be a good use for a couple of damaged JNJ caboose kits I have. No need to try to rebuild them now.

So did NYC and LV have H30's?  Never heard of them before.

I may be a Slobbering Pennsy Freak Bob but I could do with a few of those.  Can now just see a consist wuth H30s and Wagon Top Covered Hoppers interspaced in it.

I have thought of taking a FNS Box Car and doing a couple per the articles in the B&O Modeler

http://www.borhs.org/modelermag/BO_Modeler_7_2011_MarApr.pdf as well as the open to 2 Bay Coal Hopper.

Regards

Al

Mmmm cab variations....

This makes me smile the most, Isolated cabs!

Why can't Kato do this?

Funny that you said that.  As I was talking to Matt at the FVM table at Springfield, the Japanese gentleman from Kato (I'm having a brain-fart in remembering his name) came over and started chatting with us. He was very impressed with Matt's models and he even took bunch of photos of  some of them.  He was impressed with the isolated cabs, with some of the roof details and with the rear ditch lights of course.  We jokingly mentioned that some competition between model companies is a good thing for the customers.

B&O also had an open top hopper based on this design.

Patience young Skywalker...

Not the SD40-2 Project again!!!   Isn't that stored in the Smithsonian along with the Ark of the Covenant and all those alien spacecraft from Rosswell???

It definitely needs a new code name.  "-2" is not very specific, now that we have been blessed with SD70M-2 models  :ashat:

Yeah, really. Their are more people that believe in the Roswell aliens than believe that some unknown tier 2 manufacturer is gonna magically start shooting out SD40-2s. I have picked up a few Kato units and are in process of giving a couple high hoods. But I could certainly use a few more. Especially since I am in collecting mode while time is tight. But I will say if there are a couple of greys in a freezer at some underground location somewhere if they could roll one out with a high hood and a tuxedo I would be in for 3 or 4.

You and Al realized that article about the open top hopper was an April Fools joke, right?
