New TrainCat Products For Springfield

These were in the pipeline before my family problems and I am getting them ready for the show. There are many more new projects that are artwork ready, I just have to get things rolling again.

First, Maxi-1 and Maxi-4 Stainless steel upgrades. They do come with end pieces to coverup the open coupler area.




Second, a 91ft Tapered Light Tower from the Baltimore PRR yard. Don't ask how I got actual measurements!! I found some inexpensive jewels and eyelet pins that match the proto lights.






Third, An Aggregate Loader that will accommodate 2 tracks plus vehicle. I had to do some compression of the original to make the model affordable. The pictures do not do justice to all of the detail in this model.

    Those maxi upgrades are a great product, and that aggregate loader.....  I need to find a reason to have one because that has to be one of the most interesting structures I have seen.  Beautiful work!

Bob, that aggregate loader is fantastic! In my era there was still decent stone traffic on CN & CP and few quarries are necessary. I think that loader is going to be perfect for one of them.

Was it not doable to full etch the Morton pattern instead of half?  More time consuming yes, but full would take a hotness win.

Rob, the artwork is for full etch. See below. At .005, the holes are proving to be difficult. Next trial will be to overetch and see that result.

I've had some of the Gold Medal well car detail kits have the same problem with not etching through (and others where they do - same part numbers).  For what it's worth, if over-etching doesn't work, I'd vote for slightly coarser hole pattern to achieve a full etch.  Nice touch on the end cover.

If you do end up revising artwork, I'd also vote for making the hand grabs (but not the stanchions) a bit taller and narrower:

The loader is fantastic!  Still looking forward to the late-style SP signal bridge too.
