I've had some of the Gold Medal well car detail kits have the same problem with not etching through (and others where they do - same part numbers).  For what it's worth, if over-etching doesn't work, I'd vote for slightly coarser hole pattern to achieve a full etch.  Nice touch on the end cover.

If you do end up revising artwork, I'd also vote for making the hand grabs (but not the stanchions) a bit taller and narrower:

The loader is fantastic!  Still looking forward to the late-style SP signal bridge too.

It's great to have you back Bob.  ;)

Yeah, go figure . . . The Maxi-1's are etched through. They were etched at the same time with the machine running the same parameters.

After installing the first pair, I did notice that the semi-see-through Maxi-4 covered the Kato plastic underneath.

You and me both! Then I just have to figure out how to light it.

That's the easy part!
Hopefully I'll pick one of these up at Springfield (and light it up)!

Will you have the Conrail transfer cabs in stock?

Bob,

Just make sure you take a kevlar and flak jacket to Springfield.  There has been a lot of whining on some of the other boards and folks may actively seek you out.  Can guarantee damn near 99% will not know what you have been through in the last year...I'd lend you mine, but I still need it where I'm at... :scared:

On the topic of stuff, any idea on if or when you might do the Wilson Auto Ramps in HO?  Got a pair in N Scale, but need the grown up version now...  :P

Thanks,
Brian

Thanks Brian, I knew it would be coming. With my son's situation going from worse to unimaginable during the last 45 days, I wonder sometimes how I keep from crawling into a hole and calling it quits. I really need this time away from being the primary caregiver for my wife and son for a little bit. Even if I need a flak jacket to do it  :scared:. The coping part is being amongst a great group of people like this (along with the immersion into building models). Sorry for the digression.

The HO Auto Ramp is in stock and available.

No need to apologize. You're their rock that provides the stability they need right now and we as a group will support you as best we can.  The modeling world can be the outlet you need to refresh and recharge the batteries and we wish you nothing but the best.

I'll keep an eye on the website and place an order once you're online again unless you want the order early. Not in a rush since I'm still stuck in Afghanistan anyway....  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Hang in there.

Bob,nice work as always and looking forward to putting the finishing touches on your art. Get some business cards made up for the show so you don't have to recite the same thing every 5 minutes. Been to hell and back revisiting soon! My thoughts are with you and yours. Jerry

Must... Resist... Light tower...

"Resistance is futile"

Too bad i'm more focused on Kadee MT H31's and 36'/40' MT and Atlas wood-side reefers, plus anything pre British Railways UK N scale.

Beginning of next month.

Thank you. Should have an order ready at that time. I plan on placing a number of orders over the next few months. Hope things get better for you. Best of luck.
