thats bougas, i paid over for the noch version
I wouldn't be disappointed. From what i've researched the "fly-swatter" type has less potency than the Noch version. The Noch version better distance from the grounding point whereas the smaller, seemingly "kitbashed" version, only has a minimal radius from the grounding point and also requires the user to keep the applicator closer to the surface of where the grass is being applied.-Cody F.
Here's Kevin Rowbotham's groovy MRH article detailing how to build the flyswatter, 12V and 120V static grass applicators.http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/magazine/mrh-2010-MarApr/static_grass_applicatorsI built the 12V one for under $30 (neg ion generator was $25) and it works great.
I built my own based on a Joe Fugate design and am very happy with it:It is essentially a Noch Grassmaster built with off-the-shelf parts for about $25 bucks. I posted step-by-step instructions on my blog a few years ago and have had reports from others that have successfully built one. I went with this style of static grass applicator over the fly swatter style because I find the vertical design makes it easier to control the application of the static grass.Jamie
