Duly noted, and I agree for the most part. However, consider: a resin color closer to the finish color will make it much easier to finish; slight imperfections, or recesses where it's difficult to reach with paint, will look better, so you can use less paint and reduce the risk of obscuring details. The other factor here is that we determined the target customers for the circus tractors are less likely to want to paint things themselves, and for them the appearance of the tinted resin will likely be acceptable. Also note, the photographs I've posted really show them at their worst, with bright light saturating the resin to the point of looking translucent; in person, they're more convincing. Unless I'm wrong... anyone who's received their orders care to comment on this? I'm all ears!

Several good points, especially about the non-painters. I'll take whatever color is available.

A shot of Dull Cote would help if it really bothered anyone, I suppose.

David, yes the model is wonderful, I just received my three.  I'm writing to give you kudos about the packaging!  Very professional and nicely done.   If anybody is worried about them being shipped in an envelope- don't.  You could put a stam pn it and ship it loos the model is that protected.  Anyway, its great to see an excellent model in great packaging.  It's always a disappointment to me when something I buy is not packaged properly.  It makes me wonder if the producer even cared about the product in the forst place.  Again, well done.

Thank you for these comments. I struggled a great deal with the packaging; it was almost as challenging as the model itself, and in fact delayed its release by a week. I tried all sorts of options until I came to the conclusion that the only way to completely protect it was to fabricate and cast a custom nest.

I am writing to openly thank Karin and Loren for re-evaluating the cost of postage and handling on my order of crawler/caterpillar kits.
I understand as well that my order is on the way.
The red version is equally of interest to me.  During the 1950, International Harvester produced a crawler; as with other of their products
they offered a scale model in plastic.   I recall having one and suspect it was given to one of my younger cousins.
Occasionally, the scale models turn up in antique shops in the US.

Please offer the red one as stand alone from the circus set.
Thanks again for the customer friendly service.

Just got a box full of the crawlers from DKS (and we still have plenty of buses) ready for immediate shipping. Some of you have ordered multiples of the crawlers from us but with other items as well. Poor David has to replenish some NZT's other awesome products before I ship yours. Please be patient. Thanks much.

You caught me John. Yeah, I have been spending a lot more time in here lately than over at Z Central or Trainboard. This group of guys are a challenge for me mostly because they are so far out of my league. But I've been learning things. Things like don't make them mad, don't say stupid things, and don't pretend I know something because it will certainly appear obvious that I don't. Wait, why am I here again?!?!?!?

I lasered the parts for the bus and crawler masters for DKS so I decided to stick around and watch reactions (got involved in other areas too, at least until they shoo me away). If you've looked back in this thread you noticed that N scalers like their little yellow crawlers. A Lot! As for me I have my little red ones  :o

Don't tell the Z guys but I'm liking N more and more....

Received the four crawlers I ordered.
What is the adhesive recommended for bonding the tracks to the body?
I tried two types I have on hand without any success. Thanks.

CA (cyanoacrylate, or Krazy Glue) is the recommended adhesive for resin kits.

I received mine a couple days ago.

Stunning how small and finely detailed they are.
