I try to do fair shipping, if you want for me to send your fragile items in a padded envelope I will but there is risk involved. I am a very faithful regular customer of MBK myself so please do not consider this bashing in any way shape or form. I believe that their shipping is too high. I get the best prices on merchandise from them but 12+ dollars to ship small stuff is, well, twice as bad as my shipping. Depending on the content value it probably evens out in the end.

I see that I have not embedded a signature into my postings in this forum so I should mention that Alaska Railroader is Stonebridge Models for those who hadn't figured it out yet. Sorry.

MBK is my main shop but I only get $12 shipping UPS when it has an oversized item. Other stuff it has me at $8. But again this isnt a shipping thread.

But I did miss the bus today. (ba dum tiss!) I went to order it this afternoon and from the time I clicked the N scale page and there were 12 when I checked out it was OOS.

well, stonebridge is out of CATs at the moment.  Seems it their site won't do back-orders.  We'll see how this works out.

For the record Paul and I just put his crawlers on backorder. I can do that for anyone. I thank you all for the many orders you put in today.

I am preparing a large re-stock for Stonebridge, so feel free to contact Karin with your inquiries.

This is all really kind of crazy. Who knew... and I posted the announcement of their availability only on Railwire!

I'm glad I got my order in super early  :D

Just need to find that damn airbrush...
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

When I place my order via the website address listed in this topic, i.e.
 http://stonebridgemodels.com/
I feel that it is completely appropriate to post a follow up concern about the pricing structure for shipping and handling
for that item.  Now that I know the seller by username, I have addressed my question directly to that person.

Yes Roger I agree completely on two points. It is always good to communicate concerns to a manufacturer/retailer with any concerns. I want to be that kind of business operator. And yes you were correct in your pm when you mentioned that the shipping is an automated calculation done by PayPal. I really need to figure out how to adjust for this especially with the very smallest items in our store. Cost goes up with the price of the item because it usually indicates a bigger shipping container which would, logically, go Priority Flat rate.

I also remembered that i have some plain cardboard CD shipping boxes and can send these items First Class in them which would be much safer than in a padded envelope. I will be happy to refund $3.00 to anyone who paid $6.00 for Priority so that they will actually only be paying $3.00 First Class. The boxes cost me a buck apiece. Is $3.00 going to be out of the ball park? I hope not, I feel its more than fair.

Please, anyone who would like $3.00 refunded to opt for 1st Class please email me and I will do so.

Roger,

But it would have been nice for you to do the research before posting to understand that the shipping was reasonable before you made a post implying that there was gouging.

But this isn't a shipping thread, and I don't want to move this into our Postal sub forum

Bear in mind, Karin just spent at least a dollar of her time explaining this. So she's on the verge of giving away shipping now.

But enough of this, back to our regularly scheduled thread.

Can't blame me - I only bought 2 each of clear and yellow from MBK last night.

Are we really going to start complaining about $6 shipping/handling now?  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

BTW, MBK also ships via USPS Priority Mail for much less than $12.  USPS Priority is in the list of shipping options., and it's what I always select.  My advice is to stop using UPS as your shipper of choice.  USPS Priority is better anyway.

Until this second I didn't know . When I saw your post yesterday stating you could get me cats I thought you were some sort of a scammer in Alaska . I ordered from you later not knowing you were you . When I first tried 2 days ago I thought it was Shapeways I was to go to get them , but that was me being me . Some NZT is at Shapeways and some at Stonebridge , that added to my wrongway thinking  . I agree that your 6 buck S&H is mad fly ( very reasonable ) and you might be low balling yourself . No rush on my order , feed me last .
