Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Suppose
this means the most famous blender in model railroading is now up for grabs.  Could have been a lifetime of termite/banana smoothies, but whatever...

Receipts are also known as incriminating evidence.

Investigators call that a paper trail

Could have been a lifetime of termite/banana smoothies, but whatever...

I think you misspelled daiquiri and margarita there.. You're welcome.

Anyhoo.. my "other half" doesn't really know what my current collection is worth, but she does know that I scour eBay all the time and rarely pay full retail for anything I own.

Good thing i don't buy much of anything outside of train shows as second hand. No receipts to keep track of, and no retail prices to pay. Though i have bought B&O Wagon-tops (REA Green and Blue, as well as one red scheme with the large "B&O") at near retail. But that was of course a train shows and therefor still no receipts.

Why would you be worried?  You don't have a "little women" (wifey) at home, waiting to catch you bringing home expensive hobby stuff.

Mine doesn't do that - she knows that it would start a shoe and sweater war. Which she's likely loose. Lucky me.

I would think that the parents of a teenager would be happy that he is spending his allowance (or his hard-earned money) on model trains, instead of blowing it on blow or booze or (insert your favorite vice here).

Know how that was...my mother always said I had too much...even when all my N scale rolling stock fit into a shoe box, but that's because dad is an HO'er.
