Wait @tom mann, am I supposed to take that comment as if what I have is OK as is?  I do want to add some vines/foliage to some mortar joints and various locations of calcium deposit.

Being quite the PRR stonework aficionado, I think it looks perfect. Don't overdo it. A few calcium deposits might not be bad, but don't go overboard!

Thank you Ed, and I agree not to overdo it.  Maybe three or four calcium streaks along the entire length, and a white stone or two.  That wall is 80" long...

Then I agree with @chicken45 - a white colored pencil should mimic that dry calcium deposit perfectly.

Yes, I tried a fine paint brush with some white India ink on it hoping it would run down the mortar joints and, needless to say, capillary action stayed home from work that day!  :|

Should I dullcoate the thing?  I kinda like the semi-gloss finish, just because I want to simulate a dark and rainy night in some photo shoots someday looking out onto a field during a thunderstorm.

Its the biggest reason why I decided to add the extension way back when.  Since it is portable and long, I think I can get some great low shots of stuff up on the berm hopefully catching some lightning in the distance. Maybe in B&W too.

Damn, I gotta get some track & ballast down!

So now that the berm wall has been painted, it's time to get some electrical business in order whilst
I wait for my turnout switches:

DCC system, check.
14ga solid bus wire, check.
5amp booster, check.
12v Battery saver power supply, check.
Short Loconet cables, on their way.
3M clips to support bus wires, check.
Spare Cherry cabinet door for DCC cabinet, check.
Cabinet for DCC ststem, designed:

Got to make the control box from some old raised panels from my last kitchen.  Scraps made the box.  This is the same cherry I used to make the cabinets supporting the layout.

Door closed:



Door open.  The back side of the door supports a programming track.  The UP5 panel is on the far side of the box where the throttle is seen.



Door will get a new finish coat before all is done.

I can't wait to start messing with CV settings... I think!
