All that was cancelled????  Delayed? Are they going out of business?
Never argue with idiots; they'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Not the first time Intermountain has cancelled a bunch of cars.  Never did get the Reading FP-7 I wanted long time ago.  I sometimes think they try and do too many different roads and they don't have the facilities to pull it off.  Not complaining as I do like a lot of their stuff.

Yep, it was cancelled. And I doubt they're going out of business. They've got plenty coming out. Here is just their N scale stuff:

any of it until my

It's not that they try to do too much.  It's that there aren't enough advance orders to satisfy the minimum requirements for the production run.

What I find perplexing is that MSRP on the old Red Caboose mechanical reefers is $26.95, while the new Intermountain ones are listed at $22.95...the Intermountain car is a vastly superior model, but I'm definitely not complaining that it's cheaper... :?

Shhh, quiet  ;)

I notice that not one single canceled item this time around is a Canadian road. Once advantage of having only a few roads to choose from. No wonder they did the cylindrical covered hopper and the SD40-2W.

I am not surprised.  That has been common for IM.  I like their stuff when it arrives.  That clears out one of my three remaining email preorders with Wig-Wag.  The two remaining are the Cafe Car and Sleeper from Rapido.  That has been a couple of years it seems and I don't expect to see them in 2013 either.  Oh well, at least Kato, FVM and Atlas are bringing out plenty for me to spend my hard earned dollars on.

Weren't the X-29/ARA cars just reprints with new numbers?  I know the CGW cars were.  And I know they weren't worth $23 because I can find the first release for $6 apiece.

The cancelation of the X-29's is really sad to see. We had 2-3 complete sets of the B&O's ordered for customers at the shop (and myself, the  B&O's don't pop up on Ebay but once a year) and at least as many of the PRR variations. Glad I picked up some of the Pennsy's at the trainshow a couple months back. The guy had more and I may buy them if he still has them next time I see him.

I kinda like the whole "throw it all at the wall and see what sticks" model.  It sure beats never getting what you want because someone, somewhere, somehow decided that that scheme you wanted just "isn't popular".

It kinda sucks if what you wanted got cancelled, but if the orders aren't there, the orders aren't there.  With a 'superior' form of gauging demand without a market announcement, it likely wouldn't have even gotten that far to begin with.  So at least you've got a chance to 'vote' for it, if nothing else.  And it sure beats companies loosing precious capital dollars because they made a bad choice on a paint scheme and are stuck with a bunch of inventory.  Not only do they lose money but they get less risk-adverse in the future that way.
