wcfn100, I can't believe I hadn't noticed your signature earlier  :D

I can't wait for that bulkhead flat, should of pre ordered.

Sometimes I still can't believe the selection and quality we have now in N scale, it's just unreal.

Manufacturing issues on the TrainWorx version.  The pilot samples keep arriving with some feature not to spec.  They won't be released until they are correct, which is a good thing.  They look sweet though.

So were these issues present on the Transport Leasing cars I have?

FWIW, this is posted on BLW's site:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING BLMA BROWN FLAT CARS:
As of 10/7/12 - we have not received ANY of these in stock. We have ordered from multiple distributors and expect to have some available soon and will start shipping reservations. Walthers has not even begun to ship nor provided us with the final quantities we will receive..
At this point we are hearing that there are serious shortages on these cars. BLMA did not get all they had ordered and will have a 2nd run with same exact road #'s.
Will BLW cover all advance reservations -- yes BUT. While we have more ordered than sold, we will not get enough until the 2nd section arrives ... which could be months away. Until we get final quantities ... we don't even know how many we will be getting at this time.

If it is N hopefully it is the Thrall High Side gondola! But knowing exactrail maybe they have decided to copy Red Caboose instead of blma and offer a fully enclosed bi level autorack  :D  It would be nice to get a partially enclosed autorack !!!!

I would be OK with tri-level racks. My bets are on high side gons though, they did the FMC 4k in HO.

What was the car's usage? The one in the photo looks to be captive service?

Yep, dedicated service on exactly one route. CN and Ontario Northland both contributed cars to the pool, so this design was rostered by both.

There was also actually two sizes; a "long" and "short" version of the car.

Didn't the Algoma Central and later Wisconsin Central have similar car?

Best wishes, Dave
