I found these 5 test shots of the model and 2 prototype shots on Trainboard:

http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?147550-North-American-PD-3000-announced

Looks like they did a later phase (higher weld line on the cylindrical part). I wonder what year they started making those in real life.

Hmm... Kiz needs a real
life...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

That's the link I posted earlier. I knew the Phase 1a cars were made in 1970, but it appears the car trainworx is making is a later phase. I was wondering what date(s) the later phase cars were made.

Hmm... I'm gonna make
me a phase 1a banana
daiquiri or three...

You`ll never find a Philly cheese steak on a menu in Philadelphia. It`s called a cheesesteak and we all know where it`s from...

FWIW, MTL does not offer a 100 ton truck.

They do, its a new truck, it was released on the 60' boxcar.

Besides cement, what other commodities would be carried in these hoppers? Probably not salt, no need to pressurize?

I like it!

Nepheline syenite is a possibility. Moves in either gravity discharge or pressurized depending on the coarseness. I'll be interested in a few NATX for the mines near Havelock, Ontario. A few Flex-flo as well for CPBU/BUCP.

Oh - thanks! 8) Missed that. Anyone know what kind of truck it is? (Don't see it on the MTL website).

It appears to be the phase 3 car which will probably eliminate Penn Central

If it's just a matter of a weld line buy an undec, sand the line off, and apply a new one using a scribe and filament or use the weld line decals from Archer (I don't know how fine their finest is though).  Sheesh, alterations like that aren't rocket science.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Add a bunch of roofwalk supports, make a new piping arrangement and different bolsters.

Robbman,

You're a detail person, and I like detail people because I'm usually one myself; but you missed one detail about my statement, the word "If".
