Trainworx announces North American PD3000

I love how Trainworx slips its announcements in without grand hoopla.  In the January-February issue of NSR there's an 1/8th page ad announcing it's newest model - a North American PD3000 covered hopper.  The ad states injection molded body, etched roofwalk, 100-ton trucks with FVM wheels, and body-mount MTL couplers.  There's a small photo of an undec, but it looks pretty sweet. No paint schemes mentioned.

Trainworx is crankin' out some much needed body styles.

That's good news. First thing I did was find out if I could use any on my 1971 layout (in planning). Yes!!! They were first built in 1970 and came in several phases according to:

Gotta see what phase/roadnames these cars come in.

Hmm... I bet they come
in a box...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Always glad to see new car (even if I can't use them) but at this rate I'm never going to get my CGW Trailers.    :(

Nice.... very nice!

The ad states injection molded body, etched roofwalk, BLMA 100-ton trucks with FVM wheels, and body-mount MTL couplers.

No it doesn't.  Has no mention of who makes the trucks.

It could be either Atlas or MT trucks.

It could be either Atlas or MT trucks.

FWIW, MTL does not offer a 100 ton truck.

This is pretty cool and the era works for me.

Can someone refresh my memory - were these seen nation wide or were they more regional in service?

I have to agree with Ike, you didn't fix it for me.  My magazine ad still doesn't say BLMA, or any manufacturer.   :P

Unfortunately, it doesn't really matter to me, as this car's just outside my era.  All of the announced versions of Trainworx's latest gon are too.  Of course, I could go over to the dark side and model slightly post-merger.  But I'd have to have the green.
