Richie I am always interested to see/ hear of your progress on the FEF-1.   
Here is detailed pic of the FEF-2.

Pictures always bring out the flaws... A milled area of the frame shows and the running boards and I have not applied numbers to the boards.

This was a custom job for one of my customers.

Not much progress since last week.  I applied several matte clear coats to the backdrop to knock down reflections from the somewhat glossy photo paper.   It will also protect the backdrop from water damage during scenery work.  Also installed the strip light covers as diffuser panels in front of the lights to reduce light bounce off the sky portion of the backdrop.

From when Norfolk Southern ordered these cars in 1914 until the end of passenger service on the NS, these were the cars used.  They were painted a green similar to Pullman Green with gold lettering and pin stripes along the bottom.

I am thinking that the sides may be candidates for etching, with Micro Trains roofs and trucks.

Nope, you landed in a different dimension.  The Norfolk Southern was actually a railroad with its roots dating back to 1870.  It was purchased by the Southern in 1974.  When they in turn merged with the Norfolk and Western in 1982, since they already owned rights to the name...

Well as we all now know the Carbon fiber is conductive , 1 foot came out to be 8 ohms . Could be useful as a switch machine snapper dropping resister if you're snapping a string of them at once and some are closer than others . The Fiberglass split as I also was told here . . So I started that last 3 pair by adding a brass collar to the OEM axle , then a plastic tube over that , then a brass collar over that , Green Loc-tited , then drilled a through hole a glued in a brass wire to lock it all together . Today I glued the quartering wires to the outside driver faces . Tomorrow I will true , gauge , quarter , and glue as a single step to the last 3 driver sets . If all goes well the next step will be drilling the last 3 locking pins .

Thanks for the correction.... I just never knew there was a Norfolk Southern pre Norfolk Southern.  I assumed Norfolk Southern came from the NW and Southern merger. Just call me a UP fan!!  I am just not use to railroads changing their names.
