Hi everyone,

Nothing for me in the last three months. Finally starting to feel less overwhelmed as my son recovers. My wife will have a longer term recovery, but the neurologists say that it will happen.

I must admit, it was difficult to set down at the computer, my heart is tugging to go and just be with Jamie. Although this has been a setback, don't count me out. I will be at Springfield in Jan if the world does not end in 20 days.
Welcome back

Wow.
This Shay runs great with DCC and extra weight (almost 30% increase in weight).

I managed to paint up my Lincoln Fireproof Warehouse this week. I still need to add the windows, a couple of truck loading doors, add the warehouse sign and a large Blatz Beer billboard, and spray some grime on it. This will have a backdrop behind it, and the tracks inside the building and the adjacent walls will be on a removable section, so I can access the circuit panel behind it.

Best wishes, Dave

CHRISTmas is coming and this year we found some structures called Ginger Cottages - these are not your typical village structures but are all wood and with a gingerbread theme.  (The wife is BIG on gingerbread.)  Each cottage structure has one or more "Easter Eggs" - usually inside.  I found the lights as part of a warm white LED string and pulled it apart to make individual lights I could power off a wall wart.  Here are a couple shots:

(The Train content is over on the right hand side...)

Finally a close up of the mill pond and dam before it snowed.  This is my first time using water effects, and I'm pleased with the results.

Building the village took an inordinate amount of time but the finished product should delight the grandkids...

Here are some pics of my G38 build from Allen's kit.

The inside of the gon needs a little work, otherwise she is ready for paint.
I added moldable lead in the hollow bolsters and in the frame under the hopper.  Got her up to .53 oz.

A new older era cab and it could pass for an older era bus on first glance .

Other thoughts

Military bus .

Jail bird bus with screened windows .

Shortened bus for all occasions imaginable .

Modified RR wheeled for MOW .

Modified curb served mobile fast food bus .

Modified mobile urban knife sharpening bus .
