Yeah dude, nice going. And all I asked was an innocent question.... ;)

And all I did was make what I felt was a fairly impractical suggestion... and the (virtual) ink wasn't even dry yet...

A very simple solution which yielded a drastic visual improvement and yet, it still appears to be sturdy (it is still a metal stanchion).

Sweet!

Looks like they make hockey sticks.  Don Cherry's family business?

Winner, winner, chicken dinner...........

"It's a beauty....eh"  :D
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

What a great photo!  Where is it?  And that is a pretty tight radius on the lead track.

Was raining yesterday (and today)(and will through the weekend) so best I could do was haul the module as close to the open garage door as possible for some shots to show how both sections work together:

Lots of little details still to add, but it's nice to have a module "done" with most of the scenes in so I don't have to keep explaining to viewers what "will be" there.

Now to fit the endplates to it doesn't take up as much room in my car  :scared:

Thanks for sharing all your groovy work this week!

M.C.,

Looks like a great opportunity to build and a place to park a work train.

A little more progress on my forklift project:

I was able to surgically remove the operator from the seat and steering column casting so that I could replicate a parked machine.  I'll put an operator in the raised versions for more of an action scene where something is getting moved or loaded.

During the last show I parked my wreck crane train there:

But it would be fun to build a dedicated work train with building materials and maybe some crew cabins.
Good idea!

Naaa , I just put UP 819 in the ICU ( see Kato driver slippage thread ) . Once it gets on the normal process of completion conveyer belt I will post it back here on the WUD . I needed some forum collective knowledge to mull over with a problem I caused .

Finished the shell for my CNW BU41 slug. In keeping with my signature look, I way overdid the weathering. Someday I'll heed my own "less is more" advice...

It is indeed Portland.  I shot this in April 2010 when I was there.  Naturally, since it was me, there were no trains and the weather sucked.

What's crazy is that that inner spur wraps around the silo, over a small trestle, and to the ship-loading dock.
Think it translates into a 4"-5" or so radius in N.
I've heard the trackmobile push hoppers around it: the squealing carries quite a distance!
(almost as far as the barking of the sea lions at Pier 39 in SF!)
