Great progress Scott. I'd love to see another shot or two, from higher up, of your sagebrush treatment on the front side of the Thompson River. I have similar scenes to fill.

Thanks Mark, that is a good idea. Might be just the thing I need. I'll take some more shots tonight Gary- the sage brush work is only beginning for me as well.
I'm pushing hard now to finish the various river bank elements so I can pour the river.

Working away at the MOW landing and the last shed.

@GaryHinshaw
, here is a shot of the sage from above. Some of it is a bit tall, even though I can find examples of it that are about that height. I'm working on shorter versions as well, which are much more common. (Sorry, the focus is off here...

Looking great Scott. How are you creating the rock rubble on the sides? Is it real rock or plaster chunks?

It is a mixture of stained plaster debris and real sand and silt.

Thanks Rod, it is getting close to the river pour now.
I worked on the the last shed and the MOW landing this week. It is a bonus scene in a way, something I only envisioned long after the layout was under construction. I put in a short false siding to use to display MOW equipment and maybe a decrepit ballast hopper. I found some details in my parts boxes and a container that does not fit on the well cars.

First pass at ballast on the other canyon section. The backdrop looks a little stark and needs some details added.

A fun flashback to early 2016, lost to TRW by Photobucket. Neat to see the transformation from a bare table.

Poured the river tonight. Leveling cement is perfect for this task. Once it cures, I'll paint, texture and give it a patchy coat of Future polish. Now to mix the perfect shade of muddy brown....

Thanks Rod. It cured up nicely overnight and awaits the final treatment. The leveling compound really gives a nice edge to the river and cleans up some of the transitions very well.
