N-Scale Switchstand Availability

Just for curiosity's sake, anybody out there have any Sequoia Scale Models #2043 N Switch Stands you'd like to sell or trade for?  I need about 15 packages (two stands per package) of 'em.  They cost $1.89 per package and I'd be happy to buy 'em for that "new" price.  However, I've got a lot of post-1956 MT cars I'd be willing to trade also.

I know Sequoia Scale Models got bought by someone (can't remember who at this moment), but when I did a search a few months ago, they weren't producing many N-scale parts nor this switch stand, which just happens to be an exact model of the prototype stand used by the U.P. in my chosen era and location.

These are nice and LONG out of production. I do have a stash and
they are in NO way for sale. BTW, these pop 10 bucks each on the
bay, so to say your offer is a bit light is somewhat way off too !!

Hahaha...ten bucks each is a bit high.  Although I sold one of my Athearn Big Boys (the 4019) on eBay for $850, there's no way I would buy one for that! 

OTTO!!  I've seen these on your layout in a couple of pics I've been privileged to see.  Hehe...well...maybe someone will want to trade some MT cars for theirs as MT cars usually go for around ten bucks apiece too on eBay.

If I can't find any, I'm going to approach the new owner of Sequoia Scale Models to see if they'll shoot some for me, without packaging.  I could make a pretty good profit at ten bucks a whack eh??  Oops...nope, I'll probably end up hoarding all of them!

If that doesn't work, looks like I'll be doing some 3D model work (my LHS has a prototype switch stand exactly like these on display in their store at Ogden Union Station for me to measure), and having a Perfactory RP company print me up some in their pressure/heat resistant material so's I can make a vulcanized rubber mold to inject some waxes and have my local jewelry shop cast some up in brass for me.

I will probably draw some dwarf stands too, as the UP in my time period used them quite a bit in the Ogden/Weber/Echo area in the 50's.

BUT...that sounds like a lot of work!

I believe the new owner of these parts is Muir Models.  I would check back with them periodically as they did come through with some of the Seqouia wheel stops for me some time ago.

That certainly looks like what I'm looking for.  Two stands in the package?  Black Styrene? How long ago did you get 'em (if you remember)?

When you say you have "one" like that...you've only got ONE (1)???  You wanna sell it (them)?

Turner is new to me, and looks like they have some interesting products.  It's a shame they're short on images of them though; I just don't understand how vendors expect people to buy over the internet without decent images of the product.  They had a '65 Chevy stepvan that I'd love to see, and the bridge shoes look nice, and I need some.

May perhaps be a Shapeways project. Or may Showcase miniatures might work their magic.

I did run into a fellow local N-scaler who had 30 or so of the Sequoia Models ones.  He's trading them to me for some casting work (which I need to get done!)  I'm using these Styrene beauties as "waxes" and getting them invested and cast in brass by my local jewelry/rock shop so they'll be much more durable on my portable layout.

However, I've got it in mind to do a 3D model of a dwarf switchstand and a few other things I need, but use the Perfactory printings as hard masters to make vulcanized rubber molds from so I can make waxes to take to my jeweler/caster whenever I might need some.

However, they might also be a good candidate for chemical milling, and I am considering that alternative as I also need several items (all UP specific) all of which I might include on the same fret.

Sounds like a when-the-weather-turns-cold project to me!

For myself, the LASER-cut "static" ones are not what I'm looking for.  Mine actually indicate the point direction and have a separate handle, which also moves along with the target...all activated by my slo-mo Tortoises under every turnout I've got.

I'll have to get some assembled and hooked up and take some photos soon.

I do.  They're too modern for my use, and they're not functional.  DKS's stuff is really great, but not my era or road.
