A very very nice result with the snow/ice.  Reminds me of growing up in the snowy, cold East ohhh so many moons ago.

The snow scene is super realistic!  It came in very handy to remind me of the New England winter, while I'm having to put up with the tropical muggy weather we had around here for the last few days. Very refreshing!

Winter seems to be quite more difficult to model than summer. Especially having to remember to put the "snow" in all the places snow will accumulate.  Enjoy!

There is soo much win that I'm actually considering using the same plan since I've lost a tremendous amount of room for what was supposed to be the home for the HCD layout that inspired all this...

This made me laugh. I've probably had more "fails" than "wins." I just don't write about all of the fails--it would take up too much time and bandwidth. That said, if you read through all of the posts on the Geordie & Daphne, some of the fails I experienced along the way were dutifully documented, like the lake that cracked.

But the epic fail for me had to be WR&N III, the "giant floating steel doughnut." The failure was not in the benchwork, or the suspension system, or any of the infrastructure. All of that worked perfectly; the benchwork could easily support a load of over a hundred pounds, and it was counterbalanced so well that you could raise and lower it with your pinkie. It failed because I could not devise a backdrop that would work with a layout that moved vertically up to five feet. I tried all sorts of crazy things, from a cloth curtain to an enormous telescoping foamcore tube (boy, was that ever a disaster). I suppose the bright side is that it gave way to WR&N IV, which made it into GMR, whereas I doubt they'd have been interested in the giant doughnut...
