Change of direction. (Yes, you can pass the syrup.) I've ditched the narrow gauge plan in favor of a completely different setting. After doing urban industrial plans for others, I finally succumbed to the urge to go this direction myself. Below is the new track plan; details in this blog post.

The only thing I'm not happy about is calling this "White River and Northern." It just doesn't fit. So, I'll be tinkering up a new name at some point.

Cool! I can picture it already.  Just don't go all F&SM on us.

And I thought that was just me that was having second thoughts on the track plans.

Cool plan!  8)

Maybe a division of the WR&N, either way:

What's your city of choice?  I'm assuming it's somewhere on the Delaware River.

Something with "Belt," "Union," or "Industrial" in the name.

South Jersey Belt Line.
Delaware Industrial RR.
Trenton Union RR.
New Jersey Western RR.

Nope. Actually, think Jersey City. I'm toying with the idea of the Newport and Jersey City RR.

How about the Rusted and Decrepit.    ;)

That describes me better than the layout.

Not sure yet. Toying with the idea of maybe the 40s.

Well, if you changed to the 50's, you could get some of the impending Atlas S-2's.

If you figure some method of coming up with a nice running tender equipped 0-6-0, I'm all ears.

Hmmmm... "name that railroad"?

Modern:

North Zapata Terminals
New Zama Transportation Corp.

How about:

in the midwest: Davenport, Kansas and Southern
Heavy Industrial: Detroit, Kalamazoo & South Bend
Early Boston: Dorchester & Kenmore Steamlines
