Wabash is the proud owner of the first new double door boxcar.....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Whats up with the Civil War cars?  Won't they be regular cars when in stock or are the limited edition? I would like some, but don't want to reserve.

I have purchased one new MT release in the past 3 years and contributed to 4 Railwire solicitations on what kinds of cars I would like to see them offer. Looking forward to survey number 5.

The Wabash car looks nice, but I just don't have a place for it.

Best wishes, Dave

NYC had those Greenville cars right? Maybe we will see a no-roofwalk version in Conrail.

The Wabash car is certainly odd looking– I'd like to pick one up.

I'm assuming the ride height will be correct as this is a completely new car.  That is a must for me for all new purchases.  Having said that, I will be waiting for a no roofwalk version.

When I was at my LHS a month or so ago she called MTL to ask how they were offering them: singles? sets? how reserve?
MTL didn't know the answer to any of those questions.
But that was a couple months ago.

Personally I'm hoping they're offered as singles (or runner packs without the locos), and with bulk packs of the rigid trucks sans couplers.

Seeing the cars available as singles is good news. Originally it was going to be just the Civil War sets. I think the reserve sales only on these cars is becuase of their extremely limited appeal. I wouldn't want to be the one to hazzard a guess on how many to make. I think how well these do will determine if they are a regular stocking body style.

The sets are delayed till Jan-Feb release so we won't get to see any of this stuff till next year.

Doors are STILL incorrect (missing both horizontal stiffeners)... sigh.

Lots of new MT stuff (good) --- nothing I want or need (as has been the case for years with the exception of one heavyweight car) -- bad.

Ok; I'll bite....what's a "horizontal stiffener.... and where might it be found.....my middle aged eyes can't see much of a difference between the model and the proto photo posted.....
