I would look at some of the Athearn vehicles like the F100 pickup, the F850 Medium duty truck, the Freightliner and Kenworth also.
The cabs can be adapted to frames available from other sources.

I'm modeling Philly in 1978, so practically anything produced will be useful to me. I have a bunch of the CMW vehicles, but everything they've done will only be able to represent the very tail-end of their lifespans on my layout...

No offense to lovers of muscle cars, but in my opinion we really need the more common types that are found in parking lots, stores, bars, etc... I also have enough fire engines and buses at this point as well.

Okay, have I offended just about everyone yet?  :)

I am trying to make common vehicles like sedans and station wagons  - no Hemi Cuda convertibles.  I have several vehicles that I have started on, the first being a 1967 Plymouth Fury 4 door.  It will be a month or so before I have it shrunk down and ready for casting.

I am not trying to start a business here - I'm just trying to help fellow N scalers.  These don't even fit into the era of my layout!

Will these be solid window models similar to the line offered by WillModels?

No - my plan is to cast the bodies in a two piece mold.  You may have to clean up some flash in the window openings with an X-acto knife, but I think I can get them close so that minimal work is needed.  Of course, if there is an interest in solid ones, I can make those as well, since I have to start with a solid part anyway.

I did find that there is a '74 Dodge Monaco in 1/64th scale - it looks like a good candidate for shrinking. This one will be without the loudspeaker on the roof...

Without the loudspeaker is even better...

Looking forward to seeing you make Vehicles with open windows instead of solid cast Vehicles.       Rich

We definitely need more mid-late 70's pickups and compacts like Hondas, Toyotas, Vegas, etc.

What I really need are 1972 cars and pickup trucks, since I plan on modeling October 9th, 1971. I have a bunch of empty autoracks to fill.

Hmm... where's my supper?
I have a stomach to fill...

Sorry for the late response but I just recently joined this forum. Willmodels is slowly working towards hollow bodies, clear glazing and full interiors. My new truck models will be the beginning of this practice.

Judging by the quality of your current offerings (plus your acquisition of a pressure pot), that will be awesome!
Sounds like if I wait a bit longer I won't have to try to hollow out the models I bought from you.

I have a '61 Impala 2 door hardtop that I am working on.  I'm also trying to shrink down a '64 Impala 4-door but I keep having trouble with it.  I also have a '69 Impala convertible with the top up that I haven't started on yet.

Thanks for the update. Any information on when your first model might be available, and how you plan to market and sell them?
I look forward to seeing the results.

Best wishes, Dave
