With all of the comments on a lack of 1960's and 1970's vehicles, I have started to shrink some down from larger scales.  I would like to know how much interest there would be in an unpainted resin kit.  Each kit would consist of a hollow body, a chassis/interior, and four wheels.  I am trying to make common vehicles like sedans and station wagons  - no Hemi Cuda convertibles.  I have several vehicles that I have started on, the first being a 1967 Plymouth Fury 4 door.  It will be a month or so before I have it shrunk down and ready for casting.

I am not trying to start a business here - I'm just trying to help fellow N scalers.  These don't even fit into the era of my layout!

Depending on the quality resulting, I would be interested.  I have resin vehicles from several manufacturers which are well done.  The 1960s and 1970s vehicles are seriously under-represented in N Scale at present.  RTR models are pretty scarce after hte Atlas Fairmonts and the two CMW sedans.

The later model the better, but anything would be great. Volare's and Aspens, Malibu, Cutlass, Cordoba, LTD. All the good stuff.

I need 1970's stuff as older Junkers to populate the layout - Louisiana folk keep cars running for a while.

I have dealt with Brian on some of the 40's and 50's cars he has done in the same manner and the quality is terrific.

I would very, very much be interested in some 60's era cars and trucks.

Don't know what to do for the simulated wood stickers on the side. :facepalm:

Probably more but these were popular in SoCal and are each are common and mundane, yet distinctive enough to be recognizable even in N scale away from the layout edge...

I voted for both. Assuming of course that those are of sufficient quality (no Road Apples please) and of course they are close to 1:160 in scale (no 1:144 or something similar).  Just as stated in the CMW thread - we need more of any N scale vehicles. Period!

PS Need to have see-through windows.  :D

Since I've been screaming the loudest, for 60's era cars - especially sedans & wagons - you can definately count me in.

I'd even be willing to help, if I can. Exactly what scale are you "shrinking down" from? I have a pretty good collection of 1/25 scale models, including a fair amount of sedans & wagons. Mostly Ramber/AMC. But a few other makes also. I'd be willing to loan them out (assuming they wouldn't get damaged) if they'd do you any good.

And yes... a Gremlin. Though that's a wee bit too new for may layout. So how about a Marlin? (I know, I know. It's not a sedan or wagon. But still...it's a Marlin!!!)

I/25th scale masters would be too expensive to do, because of the time and amount of materials involved.  I've done a few starting from 1/32 scale but those are pretty difficult as well.  Starting with HO scale masters is the best, but I have been surprised in the general lack of common vehicles in HO as well.  Many of the ones I am thinking of are 1/64th scale, but these take two to three stages to get them to N.  I would need to sell about ten kits of each one just to recover the material costs.  If anyone has any HO Superba or similar models they want to lend me, these would be great.  Superba models are long out of production but they seemed to have the widest range of what I think people would be interested in.  The master does not come out totally unscathed.

I do have a '71 Olds Vista Cruiser that I've started on.
