David

You know, my personal opinion is that this particular kit (and most of the Walthers ones) is way over-used.  But you have done such an exceptional job on building and weathering the kit, doing the surrounding terrain, and the placement that I don't think anything but that kit would have worked there.  Weather those hoppers, and you'd get some awesome realistic black-and-white shots there.  Really, really well done.

Stunning, inspirational work from everyone as always.

No photos to submit as evidence, however I surprised myself by having a fairly productive weekend:
- milled the inside of my GHQ ALCo T6 hood to correct a problem with the front truck riding too high;
- swapped out the resin trucks that came installed on my brass Metra bilevels with some Kato ones (they look SO much better now); and
- started fixing some old ConCor bilevels to give one correct windows for a Rock Island car and another the right roof and sides for a CB&Q car.

I made a bit of progress on the corner module benchwork of my layout this weekend. Placed a quick cut out of a ship in the Container Port facility on the second level. I have posted further info in the Layout Engineering report Section.

John, I used TrainCat2's mast signal kits and scratched the snow hoods to give them a more modern feel, the LEDs are 0603s from Richmond Controls.  There's more info on the Trainboard thread...when you can't find what you need, BUILD IT!

The only thing I got done this weekend was decoderizing my A4 project. I scavenged a decoder from one of the old climax project's

Lets see - re-wired all the lower level turnouts into two SE8Cs and three DS64s .. and used over 100 cable ties :)

Laying track on the helix. End of the second level was raised to allow access to track joints on first level...

Figuring things out as I go during the TrainCat chlorine car build.  So far so good.  I'd like to add wire handrails instead of using the etched part.  My first attempt was, let's just say, less than successful.

Nothing says old Pennsylvania town like an old stone farmhouse. This is a one-piece casting I picked up at a train show 10 years ago; no idea who made it. I had used it in my old layout but it was painted much darker. I stripped and repainted it. It replaces an Atlas house kit whose colors I was never happy with.

I coated the windows with gloss medium to make the blackness seem like window glass.  It's not really a foreground model by any means, but sitting as it does in the center of the layout its lack of sharp detail is not distracting.  I wish the roof didn't have a sag to it, but I've seen much worse in real life in Lancaster County, PA.

Nice work posted this week, as always.

I painted and decaled this bad boy after my trials stripping the original paint.  I used the Train-worx SD70M-2 conversion kit and I am pleased with the results.

Finished a some last details on the SD50F, still need one more handrail.
