Been working on my first Alkem PRR LED position light signal.  It's also the first kit I've ever soldered together.  The NJI mast behind it looks so out of place now, one could imagine it to be HO scale...

That is gorgeous Dave.

Simply stunning– the difference between both signals.

I agree Dave - how about a headon shot of a working signal - clear , stop or ??.

At some point, yes.  Still working out the wiring.  I'm using a signal animator from Logic Rail Tech, but am trying to make sure I have the right resistors.

Pretty profound, though, once painted...

I took a bit of an unintended break from weathering rolling stock this week.  I found an old scratch built octagonal water tank at a local hobby shop, bought it used and took it home.  After ripping it apart, rearranging the walls, repainting, adding trim board and weathering it I think it compares favorably to my kit built wooden ones.

The problem started when I put it in place at the back of Cascade and all the white, mock-up, "temporary" structures in front of it just looked even more out of place.  So I did something I said I would never do: I started to pretty up the mock-ups with paint.  I coud feel myself starting down the slippery slope to these mock ups effectively becoming permanent.  Oh well.

I ended up painting the mock ups at Cascade

...at Farron

...and at Coykendahl.

I still have to seat them all properly in the surrounding scenery but they do look better than stark white cardstock.

Have a great weekend all!  I am in Edmonton at the Northern Rails operating weekend visiting 5 layouts in three days!  Reports and maybe some snaps next weekend!

Everything here is so gorgeous!  I can't get enough of those snow scenes Mark!

All I have is some ugly this week...

First turnout on the Roca Dry Bulk Transfer is complete.  Next week this should be significantly less ugly.

When mark's mock ups look better than some of my perm. structures it's time to seriously consider a hobby change to stamp collecting.....sigh  :|

Nice work Mark !

PS: Did you see Geoff's Cape car prototype...? Wowzers !
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

"life" has slowed any progress on the layout but I did maange to finish the Atlas code 55 bridge and made custom bridge piles, shaved down the Chooch abuttments and have now got the structure ready to install, thus allowing me to lay the track on the corner module....
