Hi All,
I know this has been asked before about the interest in Ore Jennys but this time it is different .
I am not asking because I want to weigh in on the market and not make them if there is not enough interest I am asking because I want to see about how many more I need to order. I just got in twenty kits and they are all spoken for already I had none to put up on site.
To help keep cost down shipping ect ect I am asking if you are interested let me know here or PM and the kits will be ordered I am not asking for money just a number .
The G38 is 27.00 dollars with decals and 25.00 with out 4.95 shipping USPS the kits do not include direction they are available for download off of my website.
You can check out my website for pictures of the models and review the directions as well

I would need a decent amount but could only order 3 or 4 at a time. I would like to get a good early Conrail ore train started but would have to add cars slowly.

Is there going to be a future opportunity to order these? It looks like a nice car and I do need a lot of them, but I'd much rather grab 1 or 2 now and make sure they're not going to be disaster-kits for me like the Intermountain covered hoppers were before I commit to 15 or 20 cars.

Thanks Mark5
Yes what ever response I get here I will order more than needed and can keep ordering as long as there is a demand.
I had a buddy of mine build a kit that knew nothing of trains and had never soldered and he did quite well. As he was building he helped me tweek the directions to hopefully make it even easier to build. I am not going blow smoke up anyone's rear and say these are easy as heck to build the first one is a challenge but worth it in the end.

Those are beautiful. However, I may need to pass this go-around. At best I can spare time in change for a handful, and really they need to be in unit trains to look right.

Those look fantastic!
I can't use these because I don't model the region, but they would be high on my list if I did!

Like Dave said, there would need to be at least a dozen running together to look right. That's a pretty big check to write if you consider a dozen with loads and another dozen running back light if you are into operating with some degree of realism.
But they do look darn nice and I'm sure many will put away funds over the next year or so to be able to write such check. Defintely an item missing today for PRR modelers.

ok I avoided this tread because I knew what would happen....
I want two. ... Like I have nothing better to do...
when do I order?
A fleet would be nice,
the price will mean time payments.
Your kit looks, to me, like a franchise to print money.
I can see you may have a cash flow problem at first.
then there is the time spent building them.
maybe we can all collect our ones and twos for an n-trak show.
...all with the same road number...

These would be really nice looking cars... Probably, anyone could use a few in some generic service. On first glance, I thought they would be perfect for modelling the unit trains run on the iron ore railways of eastern Canada, although you'd need an extremely large roster of cars to match the length of their trains.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

This is one of my goals to do a 100 or so unit ore train full of G38's , G39's and G39a's the worst part of this goal is it is not even the era I model
. I just like these cars and I remember them as a kid coming into Bethlehem steel.
I have a long ways to go to hit this goal but I hope to get there one day.
Thanks everyone for the compliments on my models !

They're close enough for my fictional operation (stuff some modern roller bearing bogies under them and I'm set) so you can bet your backside I'll put your kids thru college buying up a fleet of them.

I'd be interested in a few for the PRR. But i might be ordering them in very sparse singles as the money accumulates after the fall train-show season, or i might get a couple if i manage to sell my 11 car coalporters set.
