It was at RPM this weekend.  Sharp looking model.

After all of us looked it over, there is a bit too much real estate for the nose, but not enough to make it that big of a deal, IMO.

Either way, it's a perfect pike size complete passenger train.

Chew on these boys.

Shouldn't the Silver Streak have CP Rail FP7's patched out for AmRoad? 8)

That would be cool for whom ever gets a CP Canadian set to market first to offer it in the AmRoad scheme, along with matching FP-9Au's!

I wonder why they didn't match the front stirrup to the prototype.  Oh wait, no I don't.  :P

I see nothing but perfection.  Some people would complain if they got a date with a beautiful model and she showed up at the door with a few hairs out of place...     Sure, I'm probably looking at this thing through chinese red colored glasses, but to this Q fan this is without a doubt the best N scale release ever.  I never thought anything would top the CZ, but Kato has done just that.  :D

One thing I noticed with model trains and model planes is that none of them, no matter how much research they put into it or how much money they spend on molds, it will never be perfect. I see $200+ dollar model planes coming out that need another $200 worth of aftermarket to make them VERY close. So next time you hear someone complain about a $150 toy train that actually moves, remind them of the guy who also has to spend $400+ to get a reasonably close aircraft model done that only sits on a shelf lol.

I think those E6s are nice and plan on buying one only because I love the E series.

That's great Brian.  I think you'll be one of many non-Q fans who buy one of these.  Same reason I bought a GG1.  That said, we'll give you some slack in calling them an "E6," (instead of an E5).  That's kind of like refering to a Cadillac as a Chevy, but it's okay.  Hopefully, Kato will also offer some E6's, as the slant nose E's are all absolutely gorgeous.

LOL sorry, I meant E5. Im use to stuff B&M and MEC had up here, 6s 7s and 1 8. I bought the BL and a GG1 from Kato when it came out because its PRR and I wanted a nice long passenger train. Also my father like PRR oddballs stuff like electrics and other stuff they had.

I'm sold. At the least, I'm picking up two locos.

I have the two engines and the 6 unit set on order!  That with the SW from Walthers November should be a great train month.

Have you heard anything regarding the SW9? I've noticed it's been listed as due Oct. 28 on the Walthers website for the last several months, but that's all I know. Would be nice to finally get this one in.

That is all I know as well.  I have not tracked a lot of Walthers delivery dates on their website, but the couple I have were accurate.
