How I "fixed" it

A while ago I posted this photo and asked for help regarding how to fix it or other suggestions.

 


I received lots of suggestions with the majority saying, weather it and run it.   That is what I ended up doing.  Using ACC and an accelerant, I was able to reattach the broken posts to each other and to the roof walk.   Some acrylic paint, a little Rust All, and some dullcote and here is the result.




Good enough for me ... its back in revenue service.. Thanks to all who offered suggestions.

So it got a little bent up in service. Happens all the time. Good looking.

Nicely done. As pnolan48 said, the ladders on cars are frequently messed up, more so as the car gets older obviously. You could get away giving grabs, stirrups, virtually any part of the car a similar treatment.

Makes it look more realistic to me.

I think a great touch would be a decal/placard, "DO NOT LOAD. HOME ROAD FOR REPAIRS."
