That's beautiful. I have no need or desire for one, but I really respect such sharp work.
For the decals, try Fine N Scale FNR-2600 Pennsy Passenger Car Decals. It includes the stripes too!The "Pennsylvania" is a little short, but if you are determined, you can cut the letters apart and spread them.(I did not opt to do this!)http://www.maxcowonline.com/maxspage/showReallyBigPic.php?picfile=T1articlephotos/photo20.jpg&picwid=1623&wtitle=Maxcow%20-%20N%20Scale%20PRR%20T1&pictext=The%20lettering%20and%20striping%20on%20the%20tender%20come%20from%20a%20Fine%20N%20Scale%20passenger%20car%20decal%20set.
The idea of an army of T1s is staggering Especially since few if any have ever been available in N scale.$100 may be outside my budget I'm investing heavily in flex track for the current layout.Frank
Just ordered from Microscale, decal sheet #60-66Description: Pennsylvania Railroad Steam Locomotives (pre-1948) Gold Leaf lettering Dates:1910-48Scale:N ScalePrice: $5.75Ernie
For what it's worth, I don't think people should be put off by a $100 price on the shell (and no, I'm not getting some sort of "kick back" for saying that! ha ha)When you factor in the cost of the engine mechanisms you will have to dig up, 8-wheel tender trucks, possibly new motor(s), or a tender power drive from N-Stars, and the great deal of time it is going totake you to build this thing, $100 is nothing.Believe me, I am NOT trying to discourage anybody from doing this. I think it is beautiful that this shell exists and thatpeople are going to build some T1's. I'm just saying, this is a major project. That $100 shell is not the limiting factor.
